You are not at their mercy. You can and should insist on a complete replacement. They should not be rebuilding the transmission at the dealer's shop. The should install a new unit and they positively do that. I would absolutely not accept a shop based internal part replacement.
What are the costs of adding your spouse to the trip? It would go along way towards boosting my wifes interest in buying a brand new BW. Though she is already onboard more or less.
I agree. They overpaid for a quick sale.. There is not enough meat on that bone at 65k purchase price even if they put zero money into reselling it. Still costs them floorplan to have it sit and wait for someone to whom its worth the asking price.
That car was a bit over $75k and I have my eyes on it now, watching what happens to it. But realistically, I wouldn't pay more than 65k that they paid for it, as it's getting too close to my brand new build cost (with only the options that have value to me). And they wouldn't sell it for what...
Amsoil atf. I also bled the clutch at the same time. Either of these or a combination of the two made a tremendous difference. No more finding you were not fully in second when releasing the clutch and hearing a horrible crunch as the shifter pops out of half engaged gear.
My wait would be easy. I already own an ATSV and struggle justifying replacing it.
I imagine that it doesnt really matter which dealer to place an order with. The price is all the same regardless and 4BW allocations are not hard to come by.
The dealership doesn't know what they are talking about. Every tremec TR6060 has that caracteristics. Don't let them take out the transmission and screw it up doing something they can't do anything about. Just change to a different oil. It helped mine quite a bit.
The second gear notchiness and just overall stuburness has been complained about on this tranny since its inseption and in its every application. It will always be there. Replacing the oil with something else helps as well as bleeding the clutch.
Looking to buy a low mileage CT4 BW with a manual transmission. Must have upgraded seats (mid grade is ok if the price is right). No white, black or silver. Looking for a bright color, low content car. Will travel anywhere in the coutnry for the right car.
Let me know if you are thinking of selling.
Thanks. Great info. I am in the same boat. I want a limited palet of colors (bright), a manual, upgraded seats and a few other cosmetic options are a nice to have. Most of the cars on the lots are black or have MSRP way too high with equipment that has no value to me. At 3k off and 0.9%...
Want to get the feel for whether a custom order for a new 4BW would be an option for me and whether there is a better or worse time to place one. Are there dealers that are doing custom orders at less than MSRP or are there ever incentives available from Cadillac for such orders?
If only it had upgraded seats....I need to tap onto these guys supply chain. No idea why dealers wholesale relatively desirable cars to them without even advertising them. Someone is getting a kickback.
here's mine: 2025 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Base - Coventry Motorcar
That's not too far off of what I am looking for. Why did you sell it?
I will watch it and see if it sits long enough to lower the price. Too close to MSRP as priced. Its isn't a 5BW, to price it so aggresively. One can just buy...
