PPF Installer in Central TX (Austin, Dallas, San Antonio)

Hey fellow Austinite. Go to Taurus Auto Detailing! Sean (the owner) is great to work with. He’s done my CT4V BW and at least one other that I know of.

    Media dumps

What bothers me is that these comments are made without taking literally 5 minutes to just learn how the modes work. It's not that complex!

Can I get your opinions on my front rotors

I found a DIY shop in Austin where you can rent a lift and you can also pay extra to have someone show you what to do, so I’ll prob do that the first time around

Mostly bc I don’t know shit about brakes 🤣 Any recommendations?

Can I get your opinions on my front rotors

That’s where I’m at mentally with the rotors. I don’t see why they should be replaced given that they still have decent thickness and they’re not causing any brake vibrations. For future reference though was that the price for rotors on the 5 or the 4? I definitely would jump on them just to...

Can I get your opinions on my front rotors

Yeah, I probably won’t be doing this full job at home. I like to DIY things when I can but not sure I want to mess around with brakes. What’s the recommended bedding procedure for these brakes?

Can I get your opinions on my front rotors

The lowest price the mechanic could quote was $2850 (post-tax) for replacing the front pads and rotors. Still feels too high given that I can get the parts myself for $1800. I'm going to just kick the ball down the court here, and figure something out. He said I have a few thousand miles left of...

This second shop is also recommending replacement and is quoting the same price. Pads are at 4mm, and "hotspots are worn into the brake disc. Heat spots will cause noise with new pads." They are quoting labor as $472.50 and parts as $2697 (rotors 999 each and pad set 699), to replace front...

I noticed the C&D test car has over 30k miles on it with no mention of brake work needed, but they're also somehow averaging 21MPG so... not sure they are doing much other than highway driving.

Can I get your opinions on my front rotors

I went to the dealership for an oil change and asked them to check my brake pads because they are squealing (which appears to be somewhat normal for these cars). I’m not really having brake issues, which is a large reason I’m suspicious of their claims.

Apparently so. I didn’t even know that was a thing. 😬

Dealership says front pads and rotors need replacement to the tune of $3300……….

    What is it worth?

Some people enjoy the process. I do, sometimes, but not when it's 105 out :puke

    What is it worth?

Worth about 15 bucks based on how most people are acting in the “resale value” thread 😅
  16. Seth

For the sake of resale value I hope this is a mistake

Caravans and the like doesn’t even give you the option to select that it has CF so it appears they’re not adding any value for that. Of course, they will add value for it when they resell.

Is changing manual transmission fluid something that’s easy to do, and if so can someone direct me to a step by step guide if one exists. My first to second has been clunkier
