    Jacking up your Blackwing

That pic is from my installation of them. The plastic does indeed flex, but it's not even pinched in between the pad and the chassis. The pad bottoms out on the weld. I've jacked up the car a few times with no issues.

    Jacking up your Blackwing

They do look like the Esco ones. I have those, and they are beefy.

    No Lift Shifting?

I think I've done one or two 1-2. 2-3 and 3-4 are fun, though. 😁

CT5-V Blackwing 6-sp (2022) surging during normal driving

I can fairly consistently reproduce this issue now. On my ride home, I turn left onto a street at a certain speed, and settle into around 2k rpms in 3rd or 4th and the issue occurs. The last handful of times where traffic allowed this pattern, it happened.

    CT5 BW Rev Match

Right. 6 to 4 doesn't because once you go into the slot between 3 and 4, it's primed for 4th. 4 to 2 doesn't either because once you go out of 4th, there is no need for a blip, but once you go over to in between 1 and 2, it blips and is primed for 2nd- thus only one blip.

As soon as I saw that under the cover, I knew she was one of us [goat herders].

    CT5 BW Rev Match

5 to 3 (and 3 to 1 I'd imagine) will indeed double blip

Burning rubber smell (not the good kind)

So I've been wracking my brain over this. This has happened 3 different times and the pattern is the same- I park in an outside lot, it snows enough where the car is covered, I drive the car and after a little bit, I start smelling burning rubber coming through the vents. Once the car is in the...

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Of course 🙂. Mine is a fake CF1, though. I'm still not sure about getting the front lip. I love the look, but afraid I'd scrape it. I've heard scraping a couple times leaving Costco lol. Thankfully, it wasn't actually the lip.

    Swift Springs

That setup would look even more stellar with CF1

CT5-V What don't you like about your CT5-V Blackwing?

You're describing one of two things. 1) 668 hp with RWD, of course traction is going to be an issue at lower speeds. If it's warmer out and the tires are warm, this will be better. Colder and cold tires, and it's going to be worse. With my winter tires, I've spun them at 70mph... 2) Your lane...

CT5-V Blackwing 6-sp (2022) surging during normal driving

Yes, I have this issue periodically as well. Same rpms, light throttle. Mine usually happens on flat surfaces... But around here, that's basically all it is.

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

It was 50° today in the Chicagoland area today which basically feels like summer. Gave it a MUCH needed wash.

    Did you pay over MSRP

I placed my order in October 2021. That order is still not fulfilled. I ended up paying quite a bit over MSRP to pick up a 5BW via auction in May 2022. The price increases of the 2023 softened the blow, but really have zero regrets.

CT5-V What don't you like about your CT5-V Blackwing?

It's a solid theory, but probably unlikely. It happened at home and I change into house clothes as soon as I get through the door. Also, there was another time when I started pulling away and then the car notified me that the trunk was still open... It looked closed.

CT5-V What don't you like about your CT5-V Blackwing?

Mine requires a fair bit of force. Also, one time I came back to the car and the trunk was up. So now I double check every time.

EV Thoughts Thread: cause the old farts did their usual thing

Didn't necessarily want to start a new thread, but I'd gladly take some E-Ray like electrification on the front axle on my 6MT 5BW 😁 Getting off the line and filling in while flat foot shifting would be *chef's kiss*
