Warning, lug nut porn to follow. I really liked how much better the GM black chrome lug nuts looked over the stock chrome capped basic lug nuts. But two things, one, I was like Damn these weigh a lot more, and two, the black chrome gives almost a too polished of a finished look. The open ended...
@Nadnerb I hear you, I'm coming off an absolute nightmare of an experience with my Explorer ST, it spent the first 4 months of the 6 months I owned it in the shop. Ford did offer a buy back, but I opted for an 8 year/150K warranty. In hind sight I should have let them buy it back.
I hope GM...
Forget the payments, get the warranty.
If your furtunate enough to write a check for the full amount, chances are this is not your first or second car and being without it for a few weeks will only be an annoyance.
Pulled the wheels, cleaned and did a ceramic coating on the brake caliper (carefully) and the wheels. Applied some copper anti-size to the wheel lug studs and swapped out the standard chrome capped lug nuts for the black chrome GM parts.
I know 23 and Balcom Canyon, I'll road bike those now and then. Dec 4th at the Car Show sounds like a good plan for any locals that can make it.
I'm going to toss this out there as an idea for a future drive, route link below;

@Neveready
Id be up for meeting at that car show, but I don't know of any good roads in that area. Sounds like a great place to meetup.
@V Zaddy
ACH is always fun and very scenic. Weather is going to get sketchy up there very soon. Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road is always a blast.
What dates will you be there? Ill be there Feb 14th for the 15th-16th class. Trying to bring my wife since it is V-Day and all, but she is concerned she will be board just waiting during the day.
Yes! Turns out it was mechanical in nature. Took my wife out for breakfest at a local airport, told her to drive while I look for the noise. From the passanger seat it sounded like it was comming from behind the dash, but by chance I put my hands on the plastic cover behind the rear view...
Shot in the dark, I was on my way home from work in Santa Clarita, heading north East on Copper Hill Rd past McBean. Another White or Possibly Rift 4BW gave a short honk then passed my on my right before coming to a stop at San Francisquito Canyon where I turned to head north. Just checking to...
One more angle. Stuck working late tonight due to some Building REG4 fire safety testing. I may have left some tire marks on the upper deck of the parking structure in PTM race 1 mode...
I'm surprized at the ammount of brake dust the 4BW OEM pads generate even with light use. What are you guys using for treat the wheels with to help repel the brake dust? I know some replenets are not good on dark wheels. I had used Armor All brake dust repellent in the past, I'm sure there...
Use a good, clean, 6 pt socket, hand wrench the lugs off and on, then hand toque. They will last man R&R's. Use a dirty poorly fitting socket with an impact and torque bars, they will look well used very quickly.
I had to slap myself out of looking at Titanium Lug Nuts... But so sexy. I have a lot of experiance with Ti hardware and its limitations. Just going to go with the OEM black. Found a new in the box kit (GM PN: 84448918) on eBay for a good price.
