For the sake of resale value I hope this is a mistake

I think the OG IS F would be a living legend if Toyota decided to be smart and put a manual in it. Even if only the OG IS F had the manual and the successors didn't. They would be worth so much more nowadays too. Could have been a true collector car like the Mk. 4 Supra.

For the sake of resale value I hope this is a mistake

Yep. The dealer local to me was the same way. I told the salesguy and his manager that if they had ordered manuals instead, I would have bought one right away, and their 4 automatics wouldn't be sitting. Then they continually passed up an allocation that should have been mine to order even more...

CT4-V Cadillac announces new CT4-V BW Mondrian Editions

Constraints for carbon are so bad that GM has to make an arbitrary number of special editions because that's all the carbon they're getting for the entire model year. I know FRP isn't as sexy as carbon, but I, along with many others, would be very happy with FRP functional aero. And it's a lot...

For the sake of resale value I hope this is a mistake

Since when do non-Corvettes sell well? When I was shopping around before I bought my 4BW, I considered a Camaro SS 1LE. I called a few dealers and was told that their orders for Camaros spiked after GM said they were discontinuing them. 2 of the 3 dealers said they closed their books simply...

CT4-V Cadillac announces new CT4-V BW Mondrian Editions

Ooooh more $90k 4BWs with all options checked and some decals. No thanks.

What "don't" you like about your BW"?

I've had my 4BW for a few weeks now and put about 1500 miles on it. I have a few minor complaints. 1. On center steering feel and weight is a bit.... light and vague. In all modes too. I've been trying to find out what the steering ratio is for the 4BW, but I can't find that information...

    24 Hours of Le Mans

Looking like a 3-4 finish for Cadillac Racing. Not a bad way to re-debut in the 24 Hours of Le Mans after a hiatus.

    Sport Display Question

Shift light. The track mode tach doesn’t have it on the screen if you have the HUD. The HUD actually has a really cool shift light instead in the shape of the Blackwing ‘wings’. But it only applies to the track tach. If you use the tour or sport tachs, the HUD shift light ceases to function and...

    Retrofit carbon ceramic brakes?

I'm just saying that CCBs are a good option for people who never, ever want to worry or even think about brakes for as long as they own the car, so long as it never sees the track. And even then, it only makes sense as a factory installed option because they're cheaper than piecing everything...

CT5-V New CT5-V Blackwing needs new transmission prior to delivery. What to do?

I would 100% accept the buyback if it happened to my 4BW. But I would not order from a dealer. I'd sift through whatever is on dealer lots to replace it, because screw waiting, and all the negative emotions that come with it. I'm open to any color though, so it pays to not be super picky. I...

    Retrofit carbon ceramic brakes?

That's true. At most, one may lose 3-5 lbs per corner, which may not be worth the expense of paying ~$800-1200 per individual forged lightweight wheel for the sole purpose of just weight reduction. Do the Girodisc 2 piece rotors for the gen 3 CTS-V fit on the 5BW? That's probably 5 lbs per...

    Retrofit carbon ceramic brakes?

Getting lighter weight forged wheels would help with ride quality, though you won’t shed as much weight as a full CCB set and lightweight wheels. If the car wasn’t brake by wire, you could get away with the swap. But I imagine there’s probably some software related programming for the entire...

    Retrofit carbon ceramic brakes?

Why not spend the 5 figures for the parts, install them, and then report back here to let us know if it works or if it was a waste of money? CCBs are one of those things that if people wanted them, they would have just got them from the get-go. Because they're cheaper as a package and installed...

    4BW vs M340i

Faster in a straight line isn't as exciting as being faster on a road course. The 4BW will run circles around the M340i on a track. I wanted a truly track ready, hot lapping all day, very capable car that I have to do nothing to besides replacing tires and brake pads every now and then, and have...

I have a deeper appreciation of the CT5-V Blackwing

I've had my 4BW for 2 weeks now and I love it. I took it to some twisties the other day, and the car gave me a small glimpse of what it's capable of on track. I will have to miss June's TNIA due to other commitments, but I will make it out to the July TNIA. After about 1200 miles, the exhaust...

Do you plan to keep your 4BW stock?

Tires and brake pads for track days. That's it. Not that there's much to modify with these cars anyway. Aftermarket is practically non-existent besides the one or two tuning shops that specialize in these cars. I bought a more expensive, better, well sorted car from the get-go, rather than...

Why choose a CT4 BW over a new BMW M3? Sincerely asking.

I hate what modern BMW has become, especially with their iPad laden interiors. And them trying to push subscription based services. If BMW ever designs and tunes a BMW better than Toyota does, I may consider one. But that's never going to happen. Lightning in a bottle. The only German car I'd...

    Daily driver

I live exactly 13 minutes from work if I take the detour twisty way. about 10 if I take the normal way. Thankfully, the 4BW gets up to temps quickly enough so that I can floor it on the freeway onramp. Since I start work at 530am, I can really pick up some speed since there's not a lot of people...

    Daily driver

I've had my 4BW for a week and the only real ding I would give it is that it has abysmal gas mileage when I get on the throttle. Boost comes on early, so there's no helping that. Magneride 4.0 makes most road bumps and imperfections disappear. It's practical and has a lot of storage for cargo...
