As an owner of an EV truck who truly loves it, I do recognize the downsides vs ICE. I think a V8 is a safe bet for trucks and large SUVs at this point. Cars are another story but seems like they have to do a performance variant for the Corvette so maybe a sedan too?
I think if they were going to keep the CT4 going they would've refreshed it alongside the CT5. Sales just aren't good enough to even warrant a refresh.
Honestly that's pretty shitty of them to jump all the way from supplier to MSRP. They should've done the deal at least at what they would've made off the supplier deal (about 5% profit) vs msrp (about 12% profit).

I've got an order in for a 5BW without the CF1 and a bit torn. I'm not keen on the extra $6k and the added fragility of the splitter, and high chance of constraints. But I really like the look of the spoiler and added downforce (apparently it's at least somewhat functional?) for the occasional...
I took my chat to the next level and talked to a human. They asked me who the dealer was for some reason but they were able to confirm my status (waiting for allocation as expected) so it's definitely just a bot problem.
I think the bot lost its connection to the order database because it's not finding mine either and mine is a ways off from being built. Either that or my dealer canceled my order (which I think would still show up as a canceled order?).
Maybe the term "open" is too vague and is uhh open to interpretation? I know they can submit orders to the GM system for 2026 MY about two weeks ago, maybe earlier but that's when I had one submitted. That doesn't mean they have gotten allocation for 2026 cars yet and maybe that's what sewell is...
I don't think this part is accurate. My understanding is it's just a bit of a crap shoot for when smaller dealers get allocation though they certainly get less than the high volume guys. If what you said was the case smaller dealers would probably never get any at all since Sewell would just...
Orders opened a week or two ago. Pricing changes are live on the configurator as of today. Essentially it's an increase of $2,005 but it includes the parking package and PDR so if you were already going to get those 2026 is $305 less than 2025.
Rivians are pretty solid off road and great EVs. I currently have a R1T and looking at trading it for a 5BW. But we really don't want to get rid of the EV (for the reasons you stated). Probably going to get an R1S for the wife. Seems like the perfect 2 car garage imo.
I think it has to be soon (or already?). GM Authority said regular CT5 would be May 1st but the V was first up on the ordering guide and the V is on the GM Supplier Discount page (BW excluded) and the base CT5 isn't mentioned.
I know but I assumed SRO orders with a customer attached to them wouldn't show up in the inventory, just normal dealer orders (which could be designated for a customer, just by the dealer). I believe there's pros/cons for dealers to place orders as SRO so maybe these aren't being placed that...
