Wow, that's insane. Have you reached out to All State? This seems to be a Cadillac CT4V/Blackwing problem, but I am curious what their approach would be.
So far, that’s the only thing I’ve seen consistently among these cases - plug ins are the only similarities. It’s a dangerous situation for sure, I’m sorry you’re going through it. I didn’t realize it was happening to the 4Vs though too, I thought only the BWs.
What was their reaction when...
You should show them this thread. I'm sorry this happened to you, Im sure that is very frustrating. Were there any options both cars had that could maybe contribute to this? PDR, any sort of plug in, etc.
A part of me is thinking we have a better chance of someone like Dinan or Fabspeed developing something - it might be more expensive, but that would be their shot at making the profit they need for such a low production vehicle
Do we know if everyone who this has happened to had something plugged in to the port? Or if everyone has a specific option selected? It would be great if we could come together to try and diagnose a consistent cause
Did you get the letter in the mail from Cadillac with regards to the recall? It is the installation of the anti-abrasion sleeve which secures the harness away from the brake line.
Not to pile on - but why are you acting so defensive now? No one is criticizing anyone for not being concerned about this, in fact, it's been the opposite. We also could have very different driving habits, for example, maybe I'm getting more aggressive on tighter roads (which would have this...
Exactly - this is a great explanation here and well worded. Am I being overly cautious? Maybe, but until I know what causes this issue, it will be in the back of my mind.
This is not a good analogy. A better analogy would be the type of firearm you carry for your job has had reported malfunctions, and after the manufacturer looks the firearm over, they are unable to know what causes it and gives it back to you.
How much confidence would you have in it when push...
We can agree to disagree - there seems to be a trend of a subset of our cars losing power without warning, and the dealers have been unable to replicate or fix the issue. We don't know if it was only a specific group of cars, or cars with certain options, etc. I love my car and I'm not getting...
I can't not respect the Godfather gif, so fair play there. To be clear, I love this car and my favorite out of any car I've owned.
The fact that there are multiple people who are saying that the vehicle is loosing power, while driving, with no warning or ability to diagnose the issue is...
This is somewhat unnerving. I've lost confidence pushing the car after reading this thread and the one on FB, even though I've never had an issue with mine. The fact that they can't seem to diagnose it is problematic, please keep us posted!
Nice! How long does it typically take for something like this to happen? Assuming it retains the valve functionality and tips, I would be one of the first in line to buy it.
Thanks for keeping us updated!
I did the bumper. If I could go back, I also would have done the hood and the mirror caps, and maybe right near the bumper/decklid. It's definitely worth it, I wish I got it done at delivery.
I went back in February and my Wife and I had a blast! Looking back, I would have gone in the warmer months where the resort would be an actual resort so we could hang out at the pool and all that after. I also wouldn't have left the resort.
The school itself was fantastic, really great...
