Congrats! We will want to hear more WRT impressions of and experiences with the car considering all the nice and diverse vehicles you have owned and driven.
Does jcs refer to Joint Chiefs of Staff or something else? Curious since I worked for them for many years...
Saw my first BW - other then mine - out in the wild today - a MT 5V silver color with bronze wheels & all the carbon fiber bits - looked real sweet - great color combo. I caught up with him (with some effort) and we pulled up next to each other at a light and spoke a bit. Got to say I beat him...
I don't own a handgun and even if I did I wouldn't likely keep it in the car (for fear of using it when probably I shouldn't). However several years ago I pursued some neighbor teenage kids with a sword in hand (they through a rock through a window of our house). My wife called 911...and when...
Back in the very late 80s I made a deal with Lindsay Toyota for a supercharged MR2. I had bargained hard and made a great deal....waited and waited....tracked cars coming in from Japan and urged them to get/trade for those cars etc....nothing. Never got the car. Later, after I got the car from...
You would think after years of participating in a VW forum I would know all about bagging....lol. I was never a stance guy myself but appreciate from afar.
Back in the 80s in LA I had a car I didn't even wash for 5 years. I did keep the windows clear though. It wasn't uncommon for people to...
I drove mine with very sticky Yokohama A008R semi slicks in the summer then used snow tires in the winter. Mine did exhibit some of the behavior you describe - particularly on snow (tail wag)....but it never left me stuck...and I had one memorable get away from flashing lights pursuit where I...
My son had an ND1 (1990) Miata for many years and I really enjoyed driving it - particularly on back roads. But fast it wasn't fast.
Funny though, back in the day, when I was driving a supercharged 1st gen MR2 (that my neighbor, and SCCA autocross instructor and national champ) still daily...
I totally get this and agree. Too some extent its why - in many ways and in many situations I enjoy driving our GTI and BMW ZHP more then I do the 4 BW. I do really enjoy driving the BW though - quite a bit....and I marvel every time I push it. But I really prefer small, nimble and a bit...
I agree. My V mode setting is set to dry/sport with everything else mid level except for sound....and aside for wishing it being a bit louder and more raucous its just the perfect performance mix for just about everything. When its wet out I'll dial it back into tour....or depending on the road...
I totally get this. But like you stated in another thread the 4 BW is still a hell of a lot of fun....its just very tamed in many ways compared to some of the older cars. While our ZHP isn't nearly as fast its fun to wined out and you really feel the car on the road. And my GTI is such a noisy...
I feel this way about my GTI. There is little about any of the newer ones that makes me want them over what I have. Sure they're faster stock....but mine ain't stock. And mine handles as well...if not significantly better. And its probably lighter and more nimble. Who needs new? because it comes...
I find our 2004 BMW 330 ZHP to be absolute perfection inside and out. Sure its basic....but it does everything I need (as a driver...and thats what its mostly all about IMO). I love the analogue gauges and the simplicity....less distractions. Sure all this new fangled tech has its uses. I like...
My group (mostly CT 4 guys)....in addition to myself....were very upset when I had to pull out of the class (due to COVID) at lunch during the second day. I had - by far - the best autocross times (for my group) in the preliminary runs and they were hoping I could take the crown. Unfortunately...
I'm on factory settings and it seems "fine" to me...even today on my Alpine snows... I often drive/corner quite aggressively and the car bites in hard. Even today on my snow tires I had chassis wobble where the tires maintained grip in a very hard fast >90 deg corner. Scarred me a bit....but...
My tuned GTI is always a pain to pass emissions. I need to reset it to stock tune - drive it about 80 miles and hope no check engine light appears. In all the many years its never just needed one reset. I dread the experience (and its overdue now). It really sucks to drive it with the larger...
