I was having the same dilemma and placed an order for a ‘25. As I was on the goat rodeo with CF delays, a used ‘24 popped up that was highly equipped and I jumped on it. The ‘25 build was $114K MSRP and the ‘24 I bought was $130K MSRP when new. I paid much less than that. No regrets.
Just like most stated, difficult to beat the specific PS4S tire. The latest Pzero PZ5 is supposed to be a phenomenal tire in the same category but I’m unable to find them in CT5 BW OEM sizes just yet.
Nicknamed mine Black Widow after the Marvel character. I’ve been nicknaming my cars after characters for the last 4 or so cars I’ve owned. Why Black Widow? Well there is the “black” commonality with “Blackwing” and my car is radiant red and she’s a red head… :)
Thanks. Should add- was a spirited uphill run prior to the downhill and the difference in pedal travel was noticeable on the way down. I’m going to take a drive again soon and play around with different brake modes to see if any difference. I’ll have the dealer service the fluid next oil change.
Kinda off-topic. My car has CCB's- does this require any different type of brake fluid vs steel? Some background: I went for a spirited drive through the mountains and after heavy downhill braking for several miles, I noticed the pedal travel increased a bit. Full disclosure I had the brake...
I would go back and ask the wheel guy who can send you a link to the exact ones you need. I'm assuming you ordered it from Terrance at signature wheels? He'd definitely know the correct ones to order based on the wheels you ordered.
Which wheels did you order by the way?
Yeah seems to be not very common to do so on these cars. Refined Performance touts working directly with swift to develop their springs for the BW which is enticing. Wish KW made their height adjustable springs for our cars. The fixed ones tend to lower the front more than I like, leading to a...
I came from a '21 C63S sedan (essentially the same car as yours) into a '24 manual BW. Transmission should be the deciding factor as some hinted at above. If you are going with an auto, I would consider an F90 M5 comp over a BW. Manual is what makes this car special.
It's a good daily overall...
@FISH22 these are 19s right?? These look really good on your car. I've seen photos of this wheel in 19" configuration on other cars (albeit different wheel and exterior colors) and they look small/underwhelming. Looks perfect on yours- especially considering your car isn't lowered.
Mine is a ‘24 with almost 4K miles and does it as well. I chocked it up to the clutch/flywheel (with no proof- just from experience or having modified flywheel vehicles making similar sounds during operation in low speeds) and gotten used to it at this point. Whole lotta power going through that...
I will say the 5bw does give me “range anxiety” every time I fill up and it’s less than 200 miles to empty but agree with comments that the experience makes up for it. I would’ve paid extra for a larger fuel tank in a heartbeat.
Are you 100% immune from getting popped? No. Does it reduce the risk? Yes. I run a Uniden R8 detector in conjunction with Waze and apply common sense as you described. Served me well so far.
Uniden folks. Are you running the blendmount w the mirrortap? Just ordered this combo from Amazon and look forward to installing. Hope it’s not a pain to do so. 2 days into BW ownership, I feel naked without a detector.
She’s here… What a beast. I haven’t redlined 2nd gear yet in fear of going to prison as speed limits are an average of 45mph around me. There is so much power all over the powerband. 4th gear, 40mph, slight throttle and it pulls hard. What a time to be alive and have the opportunity to own a car...
Haha- thank you. Haven't driven one yet. Challenging to find used ones to test drive- let alone a manual so this will be the first car I've ever bought where I haven't test driven one prior. I haven't read/watched one person who's driven it not rave about it so I was willing to pull the trigger...
