    CT4-V Cadillac vs. GM Dealerships

    Nice build, best of luck.

    4BW LF4 Oil Consumption

Yep, the only difference on this last oil change was I used the UPF63R filter instead of the PF63. I am only at 4500 miles so far so not sure if these LF4s tend burn a bit of oil during break-in or if turbo engines burn more in general. I don't drive a lot as I work from home. Maybe 3-4k miles...

    4BW LF4 Oil Consumption

Hey, for those that change their own oil I am curious if you noticed any oil consumption between oil changes? I did my first oil change at 1,000 miles and then another at 2,500 miles, or 50% on the oil meter. I just did another change at 4500 miles, 40% on the oil meter and I noticed I was...

    CT4-V Cadillac vs. GM Dealerships

Yeah, there can be quite a price swing between a low option M6 car like the one I purchased (low $60s) vs. the highly optioned or Track Edition cars cars sitting on the lots for $80k-$90k. All the performance hardware is the same between the $60k and $90k cars, you are just paying for upgraded...

    CT4-V Blackwing...kind of slow

Yep, 4BW feels every bit as quick as the C7 Grand Sport and Camaro SS 1LE I had. The Camaro ZL1 I owned was quicker but only when doing high speed pulls over 80mph. Around town on the streets the 4BW is just as quick and most importantly it is more fun to drive.

    CT4-V Cadillac vs. GM Dealerships

The order process on these cars is not great. It sounds like the 1st dealer may actually put your order in once they get an allocation since the kids know each other but be prepared to wait. If you want an A10 you can probably find one on the lot and get a decent discount. M6s may be...

    CT4 on the Chopping Block?

I have Black Raven as well. Dealer had a paint correction and ceramic coat done, not because they wanted to, but because they had to.

    CT4 on the Chopping Block?

Totally agree. I had a couple dealers take my build order but they never did anything with it. Every time they would get an allocation they would skip me and order a loaded up 4BW with a A10 for $75k and then it would sit until they had to lose money on it to move it. They should order the...

    CT4 on the Chopping Block?

Yep. I have owned both and the 4BW is definitely an easier car to live with but they drive pretty similar. The 4BW is a bit more refined, quieter, running on those PS4S 18"s and mated to a TT V6. The Camaro felt more visceral, more vibration, sounded better, and handled a little better as it...

    CT4 on the Chopping Block?

That is one of the main reasons I sold my ZL1 for the 4BW. It is an unbelievable performance car for the money but the seating position and poor visibility take a lot away from the driving experience. However, they do hold their value a lot better than the Cadillacs.

    CT4 on the Chopping Block?

Agreed, the 2SS 1LE is a better comparison from a features perspective but you have to spend about $70k on a 4BW to get equivalent seats with ventilation and the HUD. The 2SS Camaros also include the rear view mirror camera to help with the terrible rear visibility. All of this is pointless...

    Clutch break-in

Agreed. The 5BW tall 1st gear benefits from this feature. The M6 on the ZL1 with the same gearing does not have it and you will see many complaints about getting it moving from a stop. You have to finesse it just right or you will bog. This was the main reason I went with the A10 in the ZL1...

    CT4 on the Chopping Block?

Mag-ride is included with the 1LE package and available as a standalone option on the SS Camaros. The Mag-ride Gen4 in the 4BW is noticeably improved especially in Tour Mode when you want to soften things up. I hear you regarding the styling, it is subjective of course and the poor...

    CT4 on the Chopping Block?

I know it is not an apples to apples comparison but when you compare what you get for the money it is a pretty big difference. The 1SS 1LE is a better comparison to my base 4BW actually considering it includes the Recaro seats and HUD. My $61,500 2022 4BW has base seats with no ventilation, no...

    CT4 on the Chopping Block?

Agreed, I would hope the exotic exhaust note would satisfy me but you're right, I would miss the manual transmission after a couple weeks.

    CT4 on the Chopping Block?

I will admit I am struggling to accept the last few years of inflation but if you look at the current price of a fully loaded SS 1LE, which is/was made by the same group of folks coming off the same assembly line there is definitely a Cadillac tax added to the 4BW. The SS 1LE includes HUD...

    Clutch break-in

The reason you can let the clutch out slow and not stall on the Blackwings is because they tuned it so the rpm will automatically increase as you release the clutch. To see it in action, just slowly start to release the clutch without touching the gas and as you reach the grab point you will...

    CT4 on the Chopping Block?

I would think the 5BW is more desirable overall based on its larger size and supercharged V8, but less affordable, which means it remains a low volume vehicle. Not a real profit maker for GM. IMO, the 4BW is over priced. These cars should be $50k, $60K fully loaded. Most builds on dealers...

    Power Steering warning

What if you just change the drive mode to Sport for example? Sport should default to medium resistance. Probably wouldn't hurt to disconnect the battery for 5-10 minutes and let all the ECU and control modules reset. You can also go into MyMode and manually set the steering feel via the touch...

    Power Steering warning

Something from 1970, like no power steering at all or do you actually have power steering and it feels different now? Try cycling through the steering modes to see if you notice a change in resistance between Tour, Sport and Track. If you have an ODB scanner you can check to see if any codes...
