How much oil to add when it’s on the bottom mark of the dipstick for the 4 BW?

When When I change my own oil, what I notice is at around 6qts the oil starts showing up on the dipstick, the 7th qt takes it right up to the top hatch mark.

How much oil to add when it’s on the bottom mark of the dipstick for the 4 BW?

In my experience, to go from the bottom of the stick to full is about a qt. so I would say 1/2qt should do it but I would go slowly and then check in the morning.

Yes, that is the right stuff.

    Blackwing Maintenance Regimen

Can you take a picture of what you have? This is what the 4BW calls for. I buy it at Walmart to save some money, they also sell the AC Delco PF63 filter there as well.

Loaded 4BWs don't make sense to me

A lot of the places just use a computer and it check wholesale values from all the sales around the country. The days of real used car folks that know the vehicles, the options, and the market for potential buyers seems to the a thing of the past.

Loaded 4BWs don't make sense to me

True, I would always buy the 1LT trim on my Corvettes to help with resale value. The 2LT/3LT trims were nice and all but you see 10 cents on the dollar for the extra option cost of them but I would always get back almost all the money on the 1LTs. In the case of the 4BW, if they stop making...

    Used Value Trend

It is sad that such a good car like this depreciates so quickly. I do think they are overpriced, especially when you option them up, but a $80k 4BW being worth $45k after 2 years is a crime. I knew these cars (ATS) had a history of high depreciation so I tried to control myself and purchased...

Loaded 4BWs don't make sense to me

The most fun you can have on the street. 2,300lbs, tightly spaced slick shifting manual, 6th gear is 1:1. Top down, 50mph feels like 80mph. Just throw a sport exhaust on for $500 and wring it out to 7500rpm without risking license. When I grow tired of the 4BW I will be back in a Miata...

2nd oil change with 1700 miles driven on 5BW, 13% on the "maintenance indicator"

As mentioned, the algorithm factors in more than just mileage. The algorithm calculates mileage, idle time, engine temperatures, trip times, engine loads, and ignition starts and stops and tries to estimate the condition of the oil...

    2025 CT4V Blackwing?

If that happens more than likely it will get that new instrument cluster design that GM is putting in everything. I wouldn't expect much more. Maybe some new wheel and paint color options? The car isn't selling well, spending more money on it will not increase sales at this point.

    2025 CT4V Blackwing?

All the AFM, DFM, garbage they put in these things just made them more complex and less reliable.

    2025 CT4V Blackwing?

Yeah, that would be fun but the engine is way too big with 5.0L displacement and overhead cams. The new formula for regulations is big power of out a smaller package, which means turbos. Now if they can reduce the weight of the car as well, now we are talking. Imagine if the 4BW was 3,200lbs...

    2025 CT4V Blackwing?

Yeah, other than a pretty boring Lexus IS 350 this is my first 6 cylinder sports sedan and first turbocharged engine. I consider myself converted to the LF4 at this point. I also own a Telsa, which has changed my whole perspective on automatic transmissions. They feel archaic when compared to...

    2025 CT4V Blackwing?

Yep, not enough sales to justify it. This is US based CT4 sales, how many Blackwings you think are in there 25%-30%? They sell three times as many Camaros in the US and they killed that off. CT5 US sales for comparison

    2025 CT4V Blackwing?

Good point. I am a big fan of this 4BW. The only car I found that is more fun to drive on the street is a Mazda Miata but you have to make a ton of compromises for that street legal go-kart, including being able to fit in one. :)

    2025 CT4V Blackwing?

This true but the LF4 has exceeded my expectations and has really grown on me. From a performance perspective I think you will be more than satisfied with the LF4. It has very little turbo lag, in fact the engine "feels" like it is naturally aspirated to me. It is just missing some of those...

    2025 CT4V Blackwing?

Yeah, with the A10 you are probably hearing the additional snaps from the upshifts from the tightly spaced gears. The M6 usually makes more raucous on the over runs as you hold it in gear while decelerating especially when the exhaust setting is in Track Mode. You can do the same with the A10...

    2025 CT4V Blackwing?

FWIW, some perspective as someone who was coming from a C7 Grand Sport and Camaro ZL1, I was hesitant at first about purchasing the 4BW with the LF4 TT V6. The 4BW had all the things I was looking for including improved driving position, visibility, more practical, improved interior, etc. but I...

    2025 CT4V Blackwing?

Based on my findings the LF4 fully dressed is somewhere around 450lbs and the LT1 is 465lbs so not a huge difference but if you listen to the discussion with the chief engineer starting at 4:50 below you will see the made a conscious choice with TT V6 over the V8 back during ATS-V development...

    2025 CT4V Blackwing?

Agreed. While the LF4 V6 is very good and has grown on me I still prefer the V8 sound track and natural aspiration over the turbos. Every time this topic comes up I link to this segment from Jason Cammisa, which is spot on with what you are saying. Starting at 17:05 if it doesn't link you...
