5BW is a great cruiser, it is a very well rounded performance sedan, which makes it very special. You just have to set proper expectations for those who have never owned a vehicle with such high performance limits. Some folks may expect a more visceral experience when looking at the spec...
In my experience, this is what makes the slower car more fun to drive. The performance limits of both the 4BW and 5BW are extremely high, especially for the street but you don't have to push the 4BW as hard as the 5BW to "wake it up" so to speak. That said, a Miata is ideal for being able to...
Same here. Traded a 2021 ZL1 for a 4BW with no regrets. I like the 5BW but couldn't justify $30k more for a 4-door version of the Camaro ZL1. I would have just kept the ZL1 as I don't really need 4 doors.
On the street, I find the the 4BW has the right amount of power, shorter M6 gearing...
For oil changes 67" Race Ramps are great for sports cars with splitters. I used to drive up a C7 with splitter with no issues. Even if you lowered the car there are extenders to deal with the approach angle as seen below.
Don't confuse the V8s, (LT1, LT2, LT4 and LT6) with the 4BW LF4 V6. Until you see a published bulletin for the LF4 I would stick to the 5w30 Dexos1 oil. One of the perks is it is inexpensive. 5qt jugs at Walmart for $25. :)
Sadly no. AFAIK, there are no specific lift pads for the 4BW alpha2 chassis. 5BW and Camaros use the larger Alpha chassis, that have more options. You can use one of these jack adapters on the rear pinch weld, not a great fit on the front pinch weld though.
Touchy subject on car forums. ;) My 2c, it is not so much about being about being slightly faster 0-60mph. All these cars are too fast for the street anyway. It is more about increasing the level of driving engagement, the satisfaction of rowing your own gears, working the clutch, rev...
In this current market, I would just expand your search and buy one off the lot for under MSRP.
Not sure if this meets your desired specs but my local dealer has a 2024 in Black Raven with the 6 speed, red brake calipers, mid-tier seats, and sunroof...
FWIW, don't assume. Any dealer can put an order the system but they need to have an allocation. I had multiple orders from dealers with order numbers and then when allocations came up they skipped my order and took fully loaded $80k A10 builds, that are still sitting on the lots...
You want...
I have gone down a similar path already. I owned a couple Miata NDs, 2016 Club and then a 2021 GT, both 6 speed of course. Then I got the itch for a Camaro ZL1 and made the mistake of getting it with the A10 auto. Great car but not enough engagement for me. Furthermore, I found it was too...
Yep, high interest rates on luxury cars are a sales killer unless you find buyers that have cash to burn. Also, as you mentioned, these cars were a bit overpriced to begin with. 4BWs are priced about $10k too high IMO. I love the car but I don’t see why it needs to cost $20k more than my...
I hear you. You could still use the two jack method, one jack on each side for the rear and same for the front. Just make sure you chock the remaining wheels when you lift.
I don't bother with the side to side rotation. If they are wearing that uneven side to side then probably need an...
You can't rotate the tires on these cars, different sizes front and rear.
On my Tesla I use two jacks with lift pucks and rotate front to rear per side. It is pretty simple and relatively inexpensive solution. The Alpha chassis is so stiff if you lift from behind the front wheel the rear...
