If we want "actual tire choice options" spec on the 4BW, can that be accomodated too?
Relatively slim pickings in the standard fitment has me worried about the longer term. Would be amazing to get something that fit a more common size.
It seems like an amazing program they put together and I've thought about it for the last few years, but it needs to be half the price. It's insane at the current figure.
Can confirm on empty/fast roads. I had a great time in a rented McLaren outside of Vegas (Lake Mead, Mt. Charleston, Valley of Fire, Red Rock) in August of 2020. Put damn near 700 miles on it in one day.
You call them and let them know you'd like to enroll in the program. They're probably booked up for at least 6 months, if not longer, so get on the list and they'll come back to you with openings as they happen.
My SM car already had 52k miles on it... I wouldn't buy that one, but a 10k mile example? Yeah that's a great idea.
Though I guess you could also probably grab a used SS 1LE for less than even the ex-SM car.
It looks like Girodisc finally has them up, $1,300 for fronts, $1,200 for rears.
Replacement rings are $1k front (and actually use the generic D1-066 and $850 rear.

Yeah, that transmission is ancient and brutally slow from some of the reviews I've seen. I briefly looked for one last summer before realizing I'd always regret losing the manual more than losing the V8.
