    What would you do?

So I was driving to work yesterday and at a red traffic light I'm behind a C5 Corvette, a bright yellow one, nice and clean, some kind of silly vanity plate on it, and there's one car in front of him and it's three lanes of traffic in 45MPH zone where everyone does 55+. It's dry and clear and...

How much of that noise is fake?

Last year I took a potential BW buyer for a ride, and at one point I rolled down the windows so that he could hear the great sounds better. IMHO it was actually quieter with the windows down. So that lends credence to the hypothesis that a lot of the sound is piped-into the stereo system. And...

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

I washed my car yesterday. Sorry, no pics. You've probably seen what a clean car looks like though.

    The German Tank Problem

Are we sure that they start the numbers over every model year? Asking for a friend.

Dealers That Are Not Charging Above MSRP

Bummer. Similar things have happened to me too, but usually on a watch, not a car.

    CT5-V Blackwing Extended Warranty Pricing

Counterpoint: with so few miles on the car in nearly 3 years, why waste money on a warranty?

CT5-V Anyone else had the Infotainment not boot up on engine start?

Ha! You want electrical gremlins and infotainment not working right, buy a BMW. This has only happened to me once, but it really bugged me too.

    Used Value Trend

It appears to be gone. However, they have another 22 for $87K, so perhaps it was an anomoly?

Multi-topic thread on retirement and second car

I'm not sure of why the low production numbers for the Supra just like I don't know why Cadillac makes so few CT5V-BW. I too had an SS, and I did fairly well selling it, but I also remember that toward the end, Chevrolet could not get rid of them and offered 20% off MSRP to get them off the lots.

    In a dilemma… Help.

Yes, or at least it was in MY 2023. But your PDR is not wasted money, it does some cool things and you may see some of that back at resale. Not sure how you digressed into that, but yes, the E39 M5 was the best car that BMW ever made, with perhaps the exception of the E46 M3 (one might...

Multi-topic thread on retirement and second car

Three thoughts: 1) This is my thread. Knock off the insulting crap, people. If you don't like what someone wrote, ignore it please, or take it elsewhere. 2) Re: giving wrong directions. Years ago I was at my favorite gas station (you remember those, the places with a garage and a mechanic...

    In a dilemma… Help.

Everything I read about these suede or alcantara steering wheels are that they just don't hold up well. Our palms sweat and frequently our hands are the dirtiest part among us, and so the wheels tend to get matted and nasty looking. So yeah, I concur. CCBs are nice and all that, but I just...

    I'm a liar

I'm not sure if I mentioned this before, but I hate you. ;) This is exactly what I almost bought a few years ago. Same colors, same series, same wheels... it was in Texas (I'm in NC) and I arranged a PPI at the AM dealer, and they quoted me something like $750 to inspect it. I protested...

    I'm a liar

This generation of AMV8 depreciated about 65% and as since rebounded nicely, even before the pandemic. Probably because the new one is so ugly, LOL. From what I've read and heard, the only real money pit potential in these things is the clutch. It's a transaxle and the labor is substantial to...

Multi-topic thread on retirement and second car

I know this thread has really gone off the deep end with your (largely entertaining) posts, but I did want to update it for those who contributed thoughtful and helpful advice and thoughts earlier on. I sent in my notice today. Because I am a nice guy and because of how our pension is...

    I'm a liar

It is shorter, not as wide, not as long and weighs less than the BW. It's not a big car, just about on par with a 911. Now the Bentley, that's a big car! Pictures don't do it justice, but when you walk up to it and realize that it's all about 25% larger than any normal car, then you say "ah...
