    Ceramics

If your BW is street-only and you’re looking to cut down on brake dust, the Carbotech 1521 pads are a great option. I’ve been running them on my 5BW for about a month and a half, and brake dust is down by roughly 80%. The pads even come slotted for the wear sensors.

    I'm Asking Because I Simply Don't Know...

You’re right to be cautious, especially after what you experienced with the ZL1. GM has a habit of moving on quickly from low-volume models, and with the industry’s shift toward EVs, parts support—especially for performance cars—can vanish fast. That said, the CT5-V Blackwing’s LT4 engine is a...

Finally Let the Stingray Go — Blackwing Now My Only Fun Car

I think you did a good job of describing each vehicle. My C8 was a lot of fun when I got it in 2021 because very few people owned one or had even seen a mid-engine Corvette. It was rather special back then to have one. But now that we’re almost into year seven of production, Stingrays—and even...

Finally Let the Stingray Go — Blackwing Now My Only Fun Car

Yes they are. They have a hard time believing there may be better performance cars out there besides their enshrined Corvette.

Finally Let the Stingray Go — Blackwing Now My Only Fun Car

Figured I’d share this here since you guys might actually get it. After 4.5 years with a 2021 C8 Stingray convertible, I finally let it go. Solid car — looked great, turned heads, and had its moments — but over time, it just didn’t excite me anymore unless the top was down and the weather was...

    Catch can install?

Heads-up for Anyone Installing a Catch Can on an LT4: If you plan to remove the supercharger to install a catch can, be aware that the bolts securing the supercharger to the engine (not the lid bolts) are torque-to-yield (TTY). These bolts must be replaced with new ones each time they are...

    Aftermarket Air Filters

Totally agree. I ran a Green Filter in my 5BW for about a year before switching back to the OEM paper filter. Performance-wise, there was zero noticeable difference. But in terms of filtration, there’s no question the paper filter does a better job at keeping dirt and debris out of the engine...

    Best Upgrades 5BW

I recently installed this component on my 5BW. While the carbon fiber weave alignment isn’t an exact match, it’s sufficiently close that any mismatch is only noticeable under close inspection. As with many aftermarket parts, fit and finish weren’t flawless. There were a few minor white...

    DSX Lid Whine Results

Here’s a video showing the installation of an Elite catch can on a 6th Gen Camaro ZL1. It should give everyone a good idea of what’s involved and why this modification could pose a risk to your powertrain warranty. One important thing to keep in mind is that the bolts securing the supercharger...

    DSX Lid Whine Results

Aftermarket. Installing a catch on the LT4 can poses a potential risk to the powertrain warranty, as it requires a notable alteration to the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) system. For high-horsepower builds, the addition of a catch can is justified due to its ability to reduce crankcase...

Post a Photo of your BW Modified with CHATGPT

I had a little fun with ChatGPT this morning. I uploaded a photo of my BW and asked it to create a “sophisticated” background. The front emblem colors are a little off, but the rest of the photo turned out pretty cool.

Ct5-V Blackwing precision pkg rear aluminum toe links

It’s crazy that the toe links don’t come installed from the factory on a car with the Precision Package. And it’s even crazier that the dealer charged you to install them. That’s like saying the Precision Package comes with Cup 2 tires, but you have to pay separately for installation and...

Am I crazy? Honest feedback wanted

I bought my '23 5BW M6 used in May 2024. It had 9700 miles on it when I bought it and I've added another 3000 miles in the 13 months I've owned it. So yes, Finally-a-v is correct, most Blackwings are not daily driven. They're typically weekend play toys.

Am I crazy? Honest feedback wanted

OP, your location states Ohio. The 5BW as a daily driver will depend on what part of the state you live in. If it’s northeast Ohio, which receives a lot of lake-effect snow during the winter, I would shy away from the BW as a daily driver. Deep snow plus a 670 HP rear-wheel-drive car is not a...

    Am I crazy?

You describe my exact feelings every time I drive my 5BW. I’ve never had a car put a bigger smile on my face. Yes, it’s a big car. Yes, the gearing is tall, so you don’t shift as often — but man, is it a blast to drive. Maybe I can’t use the full power on the street without legal implications...

CT5-V PCV/EVAP uncapped? Doesn't look critical, but does this remain uncapped or should I cap it?

As shbox said, That's the cap over the intercooler bleeder port. There's a Schrader valve in the inside so no coolant can leak unless the valve is pushed down. You were right to put the cap back on to keep dirt and debris out.

    Am I crazy?

Wow! I must be living in an alternate universe. I have more fun driving my 5BW than any car I've ever owned. I love the tall gears. I also have a C8 Stingray hard top convertible. Yes, this car corners better than my BW but it is no comparison when it comes to driving pleasure. My BW wins...

    5th gen V?

Last week, when I took my BW in to have the battery tested, the dealer brought me home and picked me up in a LYRIQ. I have to say, it was a very comfortable ride with a quiet interior, but there was nothing about the car to get excited about. Even the driver admitted he would rather drive my BW...
