If you're talking about the rears in the package shelf, the rattle and buzz can be solved with some FatMat or the like, cut into pieces and applied to the shelf from the underside. Common problem and solvable. Dealer probably won't do it
The key for me would be warranty...these cars are off the charts for significant repairs. CPO is the only way I would buy ANY car, particularly Blackwings
For what it's worth Fantom Works in Virginia put an LT4 in a '69 Chevelle. It took major revision of the front frame as that engine is huge in length and width but it did work and sound fantastic. They got the engine as a crate sale, so I would guess it is obtainable.

Do I use the flat 6mm spacers or the ones with the raised lip in the center edge? Even the flat ones are available hubcentric, but is the wheel hub long/tall enough not to need the raised lip?
