Yeah, other than the recent snowfall, when the weather gets below 40 degrees or so, I drive my truck instead.
I don't have a lot of experience with genuinely cold winters.

Not to mention in the winter you're also hating the cabin.
In south Louisiana where we see 100+ degree temps for weeks on end, I'll take an over built cooling system.
If I'm not letting the car sit to warm up, I usually give it a good 20-30 seconds to build oil pressure.
Ease through the neighborhood, and then don't get over 3500 RPM or so until it gets to about 150 degrees. No WOT until it gets to 180.
