CT4-V Disappointed after lengthy Test drive

“You’re” a bit of a dick. Glad “you’re” here to patrol the internet for dangerous typo/grammar/syntax errors. To go back to the point-an alpina is not an M car and the post said any 6 cyl M car. Gearing is not top speed. Gearing is gearing. And I still cannot think of any 6 cyl M car that is...

CT4-V Disappointed after lengthy Test drive

Sorry. Cellphone. Regardless, math is fundamentally more important than spelling/typos. For the avoidance of doubt, 10pm should’ve read as “1k rpm”. Hopefully that resolves you confusion on gear ratios.

CT4-V Disappointed after lengthy Test drive

This is related to quite a bit more than gear ratios. The f80 redlines over 10pm higher than the 4bw. See the following by Seattle cubes. The gearing is certainly taller in the 4bw. It’s just math.

CT4-V Disappointed after lengthy Test drive

Which M car comes to mind where this is t true? I think this is absolutely true.

CT5-V Blackwing: Slight Yaw/Rotation under hard throttle

This will be interesting to hear about results… A crappy toe link will usually lead to dynamic toe in under load whereas the behavior of the vehicle sounds more like rear toe out. It will be interesting to see what alignment settings look like before any changes, however, the fact that is 600...

    Michelin PS4S issue

I dont find this type of wear abnormal at all. Y’all are aware you bought a performance car with soft summer rubber right? This is the exact same wear pattern youll see on most any similar vehicle. In fact i just did my winter changeover on my 335i and it almost looked exactly the same ((not as...

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

6MT fluid flush and tire rotation. Easy jobs!

    Rear spolier upgrade

I have a 2024 4BW. I don’t have the carbon fiber packages and hence I have the base rear spoiler. While I’m not interested in the carbon fiber packages, I do really like the look of the rear spoiler that comes with those packages. Does anyone have any experience with removing the rear spoiler...

Potential Tremec M6 Reverse Lockout Issue

    High Oil Pressure - Question?

Yea, same. I checked this morning - high 80s PSI when cold and high 70s when warm. I think you're fine.

Potential new CT4-V Blackwing owner, things to note on delivery?

+1 - my paint was a total disaster - but dealer did the right thing and threw me $2K for a full paint correction with my local detailer.

Potential Tremec M6 Reverse Lockout Issue

I actually find it annoying - I cant seem to get into R unless i am closer to ~1MPH. To the point where the transition of 1 -> R (to back into a parking spot for example) has me going 1-5 instead (trying to shift into R in parallel to coming to a stop to change direction). That said, besides...

CT4-V Track alignment for daily driving

I am -2.0 up front. No modifications needed. Just remove the camber bolt. Slam the hub in and replace the camber bolt. In my case I reused the camber bolt. You should be able to get -2.5 up front with no mods required as that is the stock track alignment.

CT5-V Blackwing: Slight Yaw/Rotation under hard throttle

Maybe i am over simplifying-hard to “feel” a feeling through words, but what youre describing sounds to me like n LSD hunting for grip in a high tq/hp car…. Which is even a bit more stnthetic feeling since its an ELSD. While i would totally buy rear control arm bushing wear as making this...

    High Oil Pressure - Question?

But also, that psi doesn’t seem super high. I feel like ~80 is about what I see cold (garaged, ~50F lowest) on 5w30 dexos 1. Gets down to ~18 psi at hot idle and a few thousand miles on the oil (~20psi on new oil) I’ll double check tomorrow.

    Brake Failure at 24K Miles

I would philosophically agree with this wholeheartedly-but I actually like everything about the brake feel and performance so I guess the pragmatist in me disagrees with the philosopher! I do generally feel this way about the E-LSD- the capability is jaw dropping but it feels very synthetic and...
