Weather update: may be *ass* today. I'll be keeping an eye on the hourly forecast and will probably go if it doesn't look likely to rain before 1 pm.
This event happens on the 3rd Sunday of every month, so if not today, hope to see Bay Area Blackwingers there in '24. Have a great week, everyone!
Your grocery store parking looks much more relaxing and scenic than mine! I've been terrified to get groceries since I got the Blackwing (which only annoys the wife more). This is about the best grocery shopping spot I can get:
There's a monthly Cars & Cabernet at AutoVino in San Carlos, 3rd Sunday of the month 1130 am - early afternoon. Cons: there's no coffee, and there are a lot of Lamborghinis. Pros: they have really good pizza, salads, and sandwiches available to purchase (and wine). The next one is this coming...
In case anyone is wondering, as I was, what's the impact of matte PPF on the appearance of Maverick Noir Frost paint - here's a look in bright sunlight at the inside of the rear driver's side doorframe where the wrap (XPEL Stealth) ends.
Closer-up here:
Thank you!
It's Maverick Noir Frost (Sebring IMSA Edition) with XPEL Stealth PPF. Here's one more (in a regular parking spot: my driveway! Don't want to violate the thread intentions!) and I'm going to post a closeup in the Maverick Noir Frost thread showing the (minimal) effect of the PPF in a...
Friday light at work, so I got a better space than usual. And we've even got Old Glory there in the background, even here in northern California.
There's a story about that flag. When our multi-billion dollar corporation (you can see the brand name back there too) built this $200 million...
Really? My manic decision to fly to Dallas to buy a preposterous* car is looking better and better!
*Preposterous in a good way, as I'm sure you know I mean.
Congratulations, looks awesome!
I had the same experience with MKB - they weren't budging off their price.
I love the "base" wheels on the Maverick Noir Frost with the subtle pop of the bronze calipers.
Enjoy!
This (and the rest) is some good shit, seattlecubes in Dallas. Particularly the point about comparison being unnecessary. Enjoy the one you can get, or make like Tall Steve and get 'em both.
I am thankful for this community, for living in a time and a place and with the resources that I can be a member of the Blackwing family, for the GM engineers and beancounters who let Blackwings happen, and many other things.
I went out for a drive on the unbusy roads this morning.
I'll admit...
I got Xpel Stealth PPF over the whole thing, stickers & all (well, non-Stealth PPF on the CF bits). It de-glosses the "Mondrian" stickers and makes 'em a bit more subtle, if you can use that word. Definitely less noticeable from the driver's seat without the glare off the hood sticker.
Well, I read elsewhere on this forum that the IMSA stickers make it faster. :)
I really liked the Sebring edition when I saw it in a local dealer, and I immediately ruled it out on cost. I had an order in for a stripped '24 6MT 4BW that wasn't going anywhere, and then King Dustin of Sewell...
I only managed to wait about 2 months before I called the Blackwing King and got my Sebring IMSA 4. Very happy I did. But I am not impressed with my own patience.
