I also had a Mk 7 GTI, and I traded in a 2020 Jetta GLI when I bought the BW. They are fun little cars to drive, no doubt about it... great commuter cars and they perform well against their competitors. But there is significant turbo lag, they run out of steam quickly once you get above legal...
Quick follow up… happened to be looking around in the My Cadillac app and found mention that recommended tire pressure was 34 psi. 🤔
I re-inflated the tires to 34 psi. After about 3 days of re-equilibration the pressures all read 35 psi on TPMS when cold in my 76 degree air-conditioned Florida...
Not really relevant but I have a good friend with new, loaded 850i. We know at least 3 people with M8 Competitions as well. He’s driven the M8 C but felt the 850i was a more comfortable street car with plenty of power.
Anyhow, last week we swapped cars for about 20 minutes and drove around. 😁...
It’s a special, limited edition vehicle. Right now there seems to be an ample opportunity to get one but that was not the case until recently, and may not be the case in the future once these are gone. A good deal is really whatever you’re happy with… Getting the one you want the way you want it...
Wow… somehow I was oblivious to the disappointment I should be feeling about the “tiny tombstone display”. I guess it’s a good thing the car is so engaging as to keep me distracted from this and any other serious failings I haven’t noticed. 🙄
Looks pretty but I think it would annoy me that the steering wheel seems to block part of the screen. I doubt it’s any more useful than what we already have. But yeah, pretty.
If you can get a good deal on a 4BW spec’ed the way you want it right now I say go for it. 😁
If you pull in a little more slowly the system will warn you without the emergency braking... usually. Also, turn off the Auto Lock if you had it on… low speed maneuvers are smoother without it.
I leave mine on… I rather have it annoy me 1000 times than not have it save me the one time I had...
Most people don’t know what a Blackwing is. Those who are aware of it seem to figure it out without the badge.
I was perfectly happy without the additional badging, and I might not put it on (if I ever get one).
Few things compare with the way a powerful RWD car feels going around a turn at speed when piloted by a skillful driver. FWD and AWD just plow. I guess you get used to it but it’s not at all sexy.
