You will love a 5BW and it has zero to do with a '18 XT5. I just won the fastest time of everyone who ran COTA at the M track event in Austin this past weekend and I really enjoyed the new M2 on the autocross course and beating on the new M3 comp and M4 comp in lead-follow sessions on the 3.4...
Cayenne S is a great ride, but I think you'll be very happy with a 5BW for a daily. As mentioned, with the proper attachment, a road bike is easy to haul with the 5BW.
I'll answer your questions in order as best I can:
1. 21mpg is very easy to do if you stay under 90mph on the highway. I...
So, I'm coming on my two-year anniversary with my car #26. I don't daily drive it and use it somewhat sparingly as I want to keep it for a very long time. But, this weekend I had a chance to head up to Tulsa to visit my brother and his family, so I grabbed the key to the Blackwing and headed...
I wished my Escalade V was slightly quieter (manic in V mode) and the 5BW louder in track mode. You will truly have minimal to no pops in tour and stealth mode. If one or two muffled slip through and it still bothers you, you just need to move on and maybe it is time for an EV that won't make...
It’s your car, so do what makes you feel comfortable. But, your engine is ready to rock and roll. Always warm to normal operating temp and have fun! These things aren’t fragile. :)
Okay, glad to hear that! How many miles or km do you have now? For what it’s worth, I only made it 500 miles before launch control. :). I also did some fully warmed engine highway pulls to redline through a gear or two in the 200-400 mile range.
I didn’t buy this ‘23 GTS to baby it too much...
For proper break-in, you really need to vary load and rpm. If you’re always driving under 2k rpm during break-in, you are definitely doing your engine a disservice. The owners manual even states as such.
Enjoy in good health!!
Yep! Just because the engine can manage low rpm doesn't make it a good thing. Again, I'm glad I have the PDK as it won't really let you lug the engine too much before kicking down gears in normal mode. sport mode and sport plus, it's plenty of rpm to get up and go quickly.
My upshift light...
I do agree the 3.0L can cruise at surprisingly low rpm and hold rpm at low throttle inputs. But, I dislike the shift algorithm in my 992 GTS PDK in normal mode as it does cruise around town at 1,200rpm, etc. But, when I give it throttle it kicks down a few gears and gets into the powerband...
Dude, you need more rpm. You need to be shifting the GTS between 2-3k for just lightly cruising around. Lugging the engine can be very bad for it.
The LT4 is hard to lug as it has torque from 1k rpm, but don’t be afraid to rev that one too. Shift around 2-2.5k for just cruising around.
Not a fan of cable shifter P-cars. Did that with my 981 GT4 and went PDK on 991.2 GT3 and now my current 992 GTS Coupe.
I do agree with GT325 that I drove a buddy's 718 Spyder 6 speed and that was nice.
OP, in short, no, the regular P-car shifters aren't quite as nice as the 6060 in the...
Very good news, but obviously have to be willing to forgo any powertrain warranty with a tuned ECU.
Looking forward to the 1k+ rwhp 5BW's running around soon! Going to need A LOT of tire for traction. My back-end wiggles around more than I like with stock hp.

What a crap show/ goat rodeo that whole badge mailing was. I finally got mine a few months ago after inquiring multiple times via phone, email, and carrier pigeon.
