Blackwing Order Tracking - 2023 Model Year

Here's more comedy: my sales guy says he sees my order as status 4300. And yet it's still sitting in that Michigan autoport waiting for its train ride. Unless it was "intermediately" delivered to the train station and that's what they mean.

Blackwing Order Tracking - 2023 Model Year

    That's pretty funny. It's here: https://www.cadillacvnet.com/forums/attachments/img_1628-png.18736/

Blackwing Order Tracking - 2023 Model Year

@Rob 4B00 is Bayed, not Delayed, right? You've got my status as 4B00 but Delayed. And I know it's physically sitting at the autoport in Lansing, lined up to be loaded onto a train car.

    Break In Poll

You didn't answer my question. Track driving and street driving have two different break-ins: 1500 and 500 miles each, respectively. So which is it?

    Break In Poll

What do you mean "drive it without restrictions"? Does that include the race track?

    Carbon Ceramic replacement cost

There's a funny double-negative. Your point, which is incorrect, was that, quote: And I replied that they're no MORE at risk. Read my words carefully; I wrote them carefully. ;-)

    Carbon Ceramic replacement cost

I understand you probably don't have any idea who I am, and that's fine. Folks who know me from the Corvette Forum know that when I speak with respect to technical aspects of GM vehicles, I do so with authority. I have contacts well within the engineering community at that company. I'm also a...

    Carbon Ceramic replacement cost

I disagree with most of what you're written as I've been actively using CCBs at the race track since my 2010 ZR1. But this one, right here, is just outright false. If you're concerned about damage, that's on you, of course. But the rotors are not actually any more at risk with or without the...

    2024 MY Cadillac CT4-V / CT5-V Blackwing - What's New!

Nah. Visible carbon fiber, specially with the weave forming the 'V' shape, is bling bling. And GM is very much into catering to that market when and where they can. I share the sentiment that it should be painted; carbon fiber weave is ghastly and ugly and best kept hidden IMHO. But, others...

Blackwing Order Tracking - 2023 Model Year

It took a bit longer (4 weeks instead of the 3 I predicted). Birthed on 5 April, and Oscar Mike as of this morning. Hope to have it this weekend. Edited: added the image from the OnStar app. That location is the autoport outside of Lansing where it's ready to be loaded onto a train.

Blackwing Order Tracking - 2023 Model Year

Ah, OK. I found it (already know the VIN) but I see no EDD anywhere. But that's because it hasn't hit 4200 yet. Makes sense now.

    2024 MY Cadillac CT4-V / CT5-V Blackwing - What's New!

The car already has a low-profile spoiler when not optioned with the CF1 package. So you're asking for a 3rd shape entirely?

    2024 MY Cadillac CT4-V / CT5-V Blackwing - What's New!

Shaped like the 5BW spoiler? And dealing with the speeds that the 5BW can hit? (Answer: no and no. ;-))

    2024 MY Cadillac CT4-V / CT5-V Blackwing - What's New!

Made of what material though? If you say SMC, you realize how thick that piece would need to be in order to deal with deflection from aero forces? It'd be monstrously thick. And probably look like absolute ass. It's CF for more than bling bling. ;-)

    Spring Mountain Impressions

To be clear, they'd only feel it with CF1. CF1 cancels the car's natural tendancy for lift at speed. But it produces no positive down force. CF2 makes no aerodynamic difference to the car at all; it's purely for bling. This for the 5BW, of course. Uncertain about the 4BW.

CT5-V PTM modes for daily driving?

And this is one of the primary reasons you don't listen to the folks at Spring Mountain when it comes to engineering aspects of the car. No engineer from GM has ever said that, about any of their cars. Neither the Corvette nor the Blackwings. It's such a pile of horseshit. What the GM...

    CT5-V Blacking 6MT - Did you know??????????

The LT4 has so much low-end grunt it can handle it. Easily. And the need is "improving mileage and range," since the 5's tank couldn't be made bigger for the car.

    CT5-V Blacking 6MT - Did you know??????????

It's really too bad the 7-speed used in the 7th gen Corvettes didn't fit in the CT5 platform. That extra gear would have made a hell of a difference on the highway.
