My post is referencing the OP's observation of others reacting while you're driving. I get people who talk to me all the time about the car and not one knows what it is. People simply like the looks and because they don't know what it is they're curious. At least that's the only people I get...
I wouldn't overlook observation of the person owning the car. I don't participate in these threads much anymore after I realized I don't actually notice if people are looking. If my wife is with me or she is driving the car she will tell me these things, and it's quite a bit with this car...
Blizzaks are true winters. You run true winters on rwd when you live in an area that gets a decent amount of snow/ice and have to commute regardless of weather.
If you have ability to use another vehicle or be selective when you drive then performance winters or a good all season makes much...
I guess it depends on how they do the options. The M3 I would spec is 81k. The M2 is 63.2k, buckets are 4.5k, paint is .6k which puts me at 68.3k. That leaves the carbon roof which I assume will be about 2k. I don't trust them thought not to do some kind of carbon package with the roof or...
I was a bit set on getting one of these in about 1.5 years from now. That would put me just under 3 years of ownership on the CT4 and probably around 50-55k miles. After seeing the body, the weight and the fact that the price is probably going to be 70k with the options I want, I probably...
As long as it's not raining or snowing the pilots do OK mid 30+. Those Blizzaks are going to feel ugh if you're driving home and it's high 50s out. I try and wait until next month before I put winters on.
I agree with the above. You'll have a drastically larger traction and feel difference based on the tire you select vs the 1" shorter rear. True winter vs performance winter vs all season is the decision that will affect your ride the most.
I've done 2 at Grattan and 1 at Waterford and my LF is the same. In regards to the brakes, after 3 track days with two in group 4 and the last day in group 3 I have 8mm left. I'm not sure where I'll land next year for pad wear when I do 3 days in group 3. No grooving of the rotors as of yet...
With the car you bought, if you have to compromise it would make sense that it's towards the end of better handling outside of winter. But I know you guys get a good amount of snow and neither of the tires your looking at are great in lots of snow. You really just have to grab one and see how...
If you're not going to swap tires then I wouldn't get the DSW, I would get the AS4. It's the best 3 season UHP AS I've used and it'll give you the most fun. Just drive slower in the winter.
Correct, on the same vehicle. The AS4 does handle better when it's warmer out but that's all it does. The DSW06+ is quieter, wears better and handles snow/cold better. The AS4 is tire that I would describe as the candidate for someone who wants a UHP AS tire but they don't want to swap tires...
