EV Thoughts Thread: cause the old farts did their usual thing

Following up on my post from there, I'm not Anti-All-EV - I'd love a Rimac Nevera, but I'd Nevera be able to afford one. I'm sure it has some form of infotainment but I hadn't bothered to check

Can I just take a moment to say that I love my BW's buttons and the fact I don't have to dig through 8 levels of menus to turn on my seat warmers? Seems automakers have decided that one of the only differentiators in the coming world of electric appliance pod cars is going to be the software...

CT5-V PTM modes for daily driving?

To be fair to the SM guys, during the tech talk they admitted as much - i.e. they're more familiar with the Corvettes than the Cadillacs, and none of those guys were involved in actually developing the car. I would assume they just received detailed technical briefings from GM including what...

    Spring Mountain Impressions

I went in early April and it was a blast; however, if you can feasibly 'road trip' your Blackwing and drive there, it can be an amazing experience in of itself. In my case I was coming from Northern California. I did one leg via one of my favorite remote backroads, Airline Hwy (not to be...

This is where I hit real California traffic! MPG goes downhill from there. You can get 30MPG if you are cruising at a steady 75, downhill, for a couple hundred miles, with no traffic, in 6th gear. Moral of the story = don't be afraid to road trip your Blackwing if you have 'range anxiety'!

"We've crested 300 miles a few times, and the longer trips have pushed our running average fuel economy up by two miles per gallon to 17 mpg. On highway legs, including our 75-mph highway fuel-economy test, we've seen as high as 22 mpg, 1 mpg better than the EPA highway figure, which means that...

    CT4-V No Respect

The answer is always Miata ... :) Costs about the same as replacement ceramic rotors for the 5BW and a better platform to learn on

#18 - slowpoke on the track and slaying in the autocross :ROFLMAO:

A lot of people left cash on the counter at the end of the day that they divide up amongst the instructors - totally optional of course

    Spring Mountain Impressions

No need to worry - they do a really good job of sorting people together based on their pace. I was one of the slowpokes, but I got dropped into a slower group - and going at a similar pace to the rest of my group gave me a bit more time and confidence to work on my technique and actually get...

    Blackwings and Watches

I don't think the winder will 'hurt' (or overwind) a modern automatic but I gave up on mine because I learned that I enjoy manually setting and winding most of them. Annual and triple (or heaven forbid perpetual) calendars would probably benefit most being put on a winder.

    Blackwings and Watches

That looks great! Some of the Rolex releases were certainly... surprising... but I'm still left waiting for New Coke or a Titanium Sub. Personally the one that's got me thinking about getting out my credit card is an acquired taste, but I'm a sucker for a California dial🤤...

    Spring Mountain Impressions

Don't mean to hijack, but I'll be going to Spring Mountain on 3rd & 4th of April... I was planning on driving from Paso Robles direct to Spring Mountain on Sunday (https://goo.gl/maps/kjLj6DHuFvfg1t8n9) Anyone else from SoCal area planning on driving out for this event? How are the temps and...

CT5-V Driver side window/headliner buzzing sound

Same here. It sounds like this is a really common issue.

    CT5-V Engine failure

I think folks are reaching for this consciously or subconsciously because it would be comforting if it were simply all down to one builder 'screwing up' ... because then all you'd have to do is look at the plate on your engine to know whether or not your engine is likely to grenade. Problems...

Anyone get their Blackwing badge yet? And are you putting it on?

I always thought the 997 and 996 gang would be 'good eggs'. I'll just say the 991 forum isn't quite like that, and this one (cadillacvnet) has been a breath of fresh air!

How many of you with a 4BW or a 5BW actually took one for a test drive before buying?

Porsche sales and service is another level but you're gonna miss the V8 and the manual! PDK is a fun gearbox for a few months but then... blah... That being said, Porsche is exactly like Rolex. After you've taken delivery of your loaded Macan and Panamera GTS, you're going to be qualified to...

Anyone get their Blackwing badge yet? And are you putting it on?

You aren't missing a whole lot not being on Rennlist. I'm in the 991 generation forum and it doesn't matter how the thread starts it always ends with people tearing lumps out of each other's cars depending on whether it's NA (.1) or Turbo (.2) :ROFLMAO:

CT4-V BW - LOW OIL PRESSURE - METAL IN OIL

You should be safe if it's in an automatic... even in manual mode I would expect it'll deny a shift that puts you beyond redline.
