Definitely take longer to clean. One of the reasons I chose the CCB (another was my rotors on my V2 and V3 warped here in the Phx summers). I've heard the bronze turns an ugly brown with the regular pad dust.
FWIW, I would've done black wheels again if I was doing the regular brakes.
Agree with this sentiment. I don't mind losing my deposit if necessary, but why be another 100K+ down on something you don't even like?
FWIW, my dealer allowed me to test drive MY ordered car before finalizing purchase. Definitely, they would NOT allow someone else to test drive it since the...
We
Welcome to the club!!!
1) I've had mine since Jan 2023, have 18K miles on it, only issue was OnStar module went out, took > 3 months to get replacement. No engine issues. On a side-note, I put > 77K miles on my V3, which also had an LT4, and had zero engine/powertrain issues. Only had...
Many people (myself included) tend to think that due to the objectively measured "track times", and the two cars are subjectively swappable (ZL1 and 5BW). Glad to hear this isn't the case.
I can definitely attest that both objectively and subjective, the V3 and 5BW are not the same, in the...
Unfortunately, yes. HOWEVER, I was able to piecemeal mine together. I ordered without carbon to fill allocation. My dealer then ordered an OEM carbon spoiler, OEM splitter, OEM front deflectors, etc. Others on this forum got aftermarket carbon fiber kits as well (Terrence Sig, Savage...
Ahhhh, yes. Perhaps I should clarify the 18 months comment.
I placed order with dealer first week of Sept 2021, was told I got my "allocation" June 2022, received my vehicle last week of Jan 2023 (approx 17 months, but I count the entire month of Sept and Jan into it cause it hurt that bad...
Morning:
1) Not sure when the build tool goes live. Orders can be placed through dealers though.
2) This is an absolute personal decision on whether to order spec or not. Know that dealers are BARELY getting allocations, and certain "spec" items may be under constraint (I.e. carbon packages...
This is a very important point. there are small air deflectors on the bottom of the carbon splitter for the 5 with CCB that I had to order in order to piecemeal it together. There is another thread at the part numbers -- we believe they are important if you have the CCB.
Very true.... although I typically check the forum at least every other day just to see what's new.
Activity early on was robust, but it feels like:
1) You can search for the topics you need, hence, not starting a new thread
2) Everyone who wanted a Blackwing got one, and interest may be...
Carbon Ceramic Brakes.... I have them, and it's my favorite upgrade due to NO BRAKE DUST. My bronze wheels stay fresh for weeks on end. If I had black wheels, the CCB might not be worth it.
Though I don't have black, I also piece-meal'd the OEM spoiler and splitter assembly after the fact...
