Sweet!!!
I just picked this bad boy up (e34 M5). Water pump and clutch slave were shot. Got those replaced, now trying to figure out this damn AC. It’s too damn hot in Texas to roll without AC!
No update from my dealer. TPW was supposedly moved up to 4/18 but no VIN and status is unknown. Not sure what to think of it. I’ll just have to wait it out………...some more!!!
The standard seats in the 5BW are the same seats in the regular CT5V but with different stitching. Go to the dealer and sit in a regular CT5V so you’ll know how they fit you. My buddy has a regular CT5V and I absolutely love the standard seats (he’s got a BW order scheduled for delivery at the...
I had Xpel on the front end of my GT500 and have it now on the front end of my Durango HC. Love it. I wouldn’t do a whole car, just because cost seems insane, but I can see why some would do it. PPF has improved exponentially the last decade. As with anything you get “applied” to your car 90%...
I’m speaking from my experience on other high performance vehicles. My 5 blackwing has TPW of 4/11. My first mod will be a low dust high performance brake pad for street use. I expect that PowerStop has an application for the 5BW Brembo because GM probably uses the same caliper on other high...
You can also swap to a milder pad for street use, saving the OEM brembo’s for track use. Lots of people do that, myself included. Pop on a set of PowerStop ceramic pads for daily use. When you hit the track swap them out for your factory high performance Brembo pads. Save’s your rotors and also...
Most options like heated seats that are restricted will be installed on your car at a later date. You won’t necessarily be without it forever, just installed when parts become available. It’s not like they have to install a new main harness under the molded carpet or new elements in the seat...
Heated seats aren’t a deal breaker for me. I hate heated seats and heated steering wheels anyway. But I absolutely have to have cooled seats in Texas. I gotta have cold air blowing up my ass during the Texas summer blast furnace!!
Interior CF trim pieces are small. Much easier to produce vs a splitter/rear wing or rear seat backs. If you want a car in ‘22, you’re going to have to drop CF seats, CF1 & CF2 exterior packages.
Welp, my short stint into the realm of the new GT500 is officially over. Put it up for sale and it sold today (sold way quicker than I expected: 24 hours). My 5BW is in 3000 status so I figured it was time to make room in the garage for it! Can’t wait to row my own gears in the Blackwing!
