I was referring to the well-documented opioid crisis in Appalachia.
It was intended to be social commentary (admittedly unnecessary) rather than a slam on blue collar workers. Blue collar workers who I said I was happy to be able to help support, I would like to reiterate.
A lot of the risk...
I've never owned a German car. Had not owned an American car since the 1980s.
Practical Considerations
1) I just did not trust GERman engineering after decades of reading about stuff like Porsche IMS thing, and knowing multiple people with VAG products who had massive reliability headaches...
Yes.
No PPF. No window tint. Definitely no tuning.
I've noticed over the years that no matter how much power something has, people will say "it needs 50 more horsepower". It's become such a joke to me that I actually wait to see it in reviews, or when talking to other car guys.
Looks like you went back and forth between sports cars and off road vehicles a few times!
My 4BW shares a garage with a 2018 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X (4x4 with an OEM rear e-locker). I'd say I'm about 70% sports car guy / 30% 4x4 guy.
When I had the STI and the Fronty that seemed like a cool...
If you want a truly OEM look, mount it ever so slightly crooked.
Don't go crazy with it. Do it juuuust enough that every once in a while it catches your eye and makes you stare it for a minute asking yourself, "Is that thing on crooked ...?"
There are several former and current WRX/Evo owners on this site. I think one guy kept his STI as his winter daily. Another guy has something like an Evo V (Five) in his garage.
I lived in Timbergrove off of 11th and TC Jester for several years back in the 90s and early 00s. Left after TS...
Same.
Without a test drive - or even having seen one - I ordered a car that cost 89% more than the most expensive car I had ever bought.
And it was my first American car in 35 years.
I still can't believe I did it.
Top speed was reduced from 189 mph to 187 mph. (Kidding ...)
Real talk: I do not have the skill to use all the performance it has. I'm not tracking it, so it's not like I'm getting the thing heat-soaked or anything. It's fine.
I like it mostly because I did not have to drill the bumper...
The OEM mount hangs down in front of the intercooler as well. My Sly Bracket mount is maybe 3/4" lower than stock.

Missouri City, Texas. FM 1092 between Highway 6 and Cartwright. Around 2:30 PM on Sat 05/27/23. It was White/Rift.
Only my second confirmed spotting in the wild in over a year. First one I saw might have been the same car I saw today.
You're in the absolutely worst phase of the process.
This is the first car I have ever ordered. And it might be the last.
If a tree fell on my 4BW I'd absolutely run out and buy another. But I would do everything I could to buy one from dealer stock before ordering one.
There's a psychological barrier between me and No Lift Shift. I owned nothing but manuals for 35 years. I have no desire to even try it.
But auto rev match is the shizz. Except for that first downshift of the day when I realize I forgot to turn it on. Again.
I think the standard non-Blackwing CT4-V wheels with the Pearl Nickel finish would look better with Rift or White than any of the Blackwing wheels.
I put some Enkeis with a similar matte silver finish on my previous white WRX STI, and the combo just worked for me.
Soooo .... a thing happened last fall.
In October a very feral 6-month old Orange cat showed up in my backyard. I trapped him for TNR (Trap-Neuter-Release). One of this thingamajigs had not yet descended, so the vet wanted to wait on the "N" part of that. So I had basically a wild animal in...
