V-Series Cadillac(s)?
2024 CT5-V Blackwing, 2020 CT6-V (The Original Blackwing Engine)
Hello All!

Purchased my 2024 CT5-V Blackwing new at the end of December from Penske in Torrance, CA. I live and work in Los Angeles and have affectionately named the car Bob Cat—a nod to the incredible lion featured on The Lion Whisperer YouTube channel.

I currently own three Cadillacs:
• 1985 Fleetwood Brougham
• 2020 CT6-V (the original Blackwing engine)
• And now the CT5-V Blackwing

There’s just something about the Cadillac brand I really luvv, even through the challenges (I’ve been back to the dealer 3 times in 6,000 miles). Buying American matters to me, and this car strikes the perfect balance of (almost) supercar performance, aggressive styling, a perfect exhaust note, and real-world usability. It draws just the right amount of attention: 90% of people don’t even notice, but the valet always parks it out front at a nice restaurant... if you have one you know what I mean.

Mine has the carbon fiber trim/wing, Eibach springs, and custom Signature Wheels, all installed by Auto Addict in Anaheim, CA. It’s set up just the way I want it (for now), but every car is a project, and I’m already exploring what’s next.

I'm here to see what fellow Blackwing owners across the country are up to, and get some ideas on some tires to find more rear wheel traction! That is my next upgrade for sure!

Looking forward to the conversations!

Alex,

The Penske Torrance dealership had the specific spec. I wanted at a good price - Auto, Super Cruise, Black, Top End Seats, 2024 Model (I like the look better than 2025+), and a few other small things. The buying experience was OK, but there were some problems with the car right out of the gate.

The whole infotainment system was stuck in the Arabic language. To Penske's credit, they sent someone to pick the car up to investigate the issue. The solution took over a week and they had to physically replace the infotainment computer. When I got the car back, there were several random peoples cell phones linked in the infotainment system - not a good feeling, and not the best experience on the first week of ownership.

Days later a check engine light came on which was traced to a problem with a leak in the fuel pump - this was solved by a different dealership under warranty.

I have not been back to Torrance for any service or support since. I live on the north side of Los Angeles so it is simply not convenient. Even if it was, I would probably consider other options for routine service based on my initial experience with the car.

Not saying it is a bad place, just not one I can personally recommend.

I have been very happy with AV "Diamond" Cadillac up in Palmdale, CA. (closer to my neck of the woods). They had worked on my CT6-V and now my CT5-V Blackwing for a few years and I am happy with the team. They had a recent ownership change, and I have not been back since the transition, but I hope it is still a solid dealership and service center as it was before.
