Wanted to ask for peoples experiences with running a CF driveshaft on their 5BW.

Any impact on NVH? Any noticeable benefit?

Saw these available right now.

I looked at these as I have one on another car, but when you're only saving 1-2 pounds, it's not enough of a weight savings to move away from OEM unless you need the power handling.

I was expecting the weight difference to be around 10lbs or maybe more. Plus, it’s rotating weight that can provide benefits when reduced.

I looked into carbon fiber driveshafts, but was also very surprised by the minimal weight reduction. Changing from OEM to a one piece aluminum only saves 1.5lb. Changing to carbon fiber only saves 3lbs. I was also expecting something like a 10lb reduction and probably would have gone for it with a savings in that range.

Gulfcoast is the way to go. The world's quickest CT5 BW is running a Gulfcoast CF driveshaft.
