Anybody else having the following gauge issues after the car sits undriven for a few days:

HUD reverts to Touring graphic
Trip ODO info on left hand disappears
PDR auto-record stops auto-recording and must be manually restarted

I haven't done any over-the-air software updates, they always pop up when I'm not able to get them done, and then they stop popping up. Maybe one of them fixes these bugs?

Trip ODO disappears on me when the battery has been disconnected but my PDR red light on lower right of dash sometimes isnt on and i go into the pdr which shows it is recording, i stop and restart then light comes back on, when light out there was no trip recordings. Any/all updates have been done, think i did one ota at home and just got back from dealer so i would guess they did any if was needed.

If you can leave your car outside overnight, you will catch up on OTA updates (it's been awhile but if my memory serves, anytime outside for more than 90 mins will do).

It's outside at work most of the day, so that should allow OTA updates.

Is there a log under the settings icon to see what updates have happened or still need to happen?

The first and third items definitely happens to me.

I've had to get my radio software updated at the dealership. OTA updates were not working. Now the car wants me to update to older firmware - absolutely asinine and just shows that GM doesn't have the software development chops.

For the PDR issue, I had not realized that the PDR is a completely different code/software package. I'm probably going to have to get that manually updated as well to fix the auto recording issue with the dash cam. Whenever I open that part of the UI, it is extremely slow and buggy.

As far as the HUD resetting to tour - this still happens with the latest code that was released in August. I thought it was more of a feature at this point than a bug but it is very annoying.

FYI - The trip odo disappearing is a feature of sorts - if you swipe the trip 'panel' all the way to the right the last panel is intentionally blank for those that want a cleaner looking dash. If you swipe back left the trip 1 and trip 2 information shows up as expected. If you unplug the battery the trip odo numbers do reset to zero also.

I have also experienced the dash resetting to tour along with the HUD resetting to tour or completely off after software updates.

The update history is broken for me - it never shows what has already been applied, it just checks for new updates when I select it. 🤷

Hmm, I wonder if the glitches pop up after a few day of being idle *because* an OTA update has happened…

You can reboot the car's computer system completely by holding down the power button for 10 seconds when the engine is off but the dash is in accessory mode. Probably a good idea to do after an OTA has been applied (not sure of all OTAs reboot the computer system - certainly can't hurt).

I think you can also do it by holding the "end call" button whether the car is on or in accesory mode

I rotate two sd cards (actually micro sd cards in sd adapters) and I've found it best to remove and insert cards when the car is on. Otherwise I'll find the PDR does not start recording and complains about errors with the media. I suspect the software caches the card state and gets confused if you replace it while the car is off.

Now when I want to swap cards, I start the car (or hold the start button for > 15 seconds without touching the brake/clutch), stop the in progress recording, and swap cards. I haven't had any problems since I started doing it this way.

The popups stopped for me as well after many failed update attempts. In the end I bought a MDI2 and paid for a subscription and flashed the A11 "radio" (and some other modules) manually. It's a real challenge keeping the battery up, when the dealer does it they use a massive power supply hooked up to the car.

I’ve noticed that after about two days, 1) the speedo reverts from Sport (which I select to use in Tour mode) reverts to tour, 2) trip ODO disappears.

I tried to do the latest OTA update, but it always failed. I watched it once, and it failed at the very end of the update process. Now it doesn’t even give me the option to try. So I’ll have to take it to the dealer at some point to get it done.
