I've caught this behavior before but I was finally able to capture it on my security camera. My 5BW will randomly wake up as if I was walking by it with the keyfob on me, I'm not near the BW and both keys live in a faraday box when not in use on the other side of the house. Nobody is around the house at the time. All Onstar coax cables have been disconnected awhile back, I figured this may be a remote session by Onstar to get a health check but given both links are disconnected, the module is non-functional. I plan on sniffing area RF with my Flipper but since it occurs so randomly, really hard to capture besides camping out.

I plan on running my garage cameras on continuous record to try and ballpark how many times this occurs.. (please excuse the background noise, 42u rack with servers and exhaust fans)

Anyone else observe this behavior before?

Have you called your local priest or rabbi?

I had same issue with my CT4BW, so much so that battery died (as I did not drive it for a couple of weeks).

Wow.........that is very bizarre. I don't think mine does it. Battery life has been way better than I expected, given how seldom I get to drive it.

This just happened to my ‘23 5BW. It sat for 10 days without being driven, and the battery went completely dead. I had to use the blade key from the key fob to manually unlock the driver’s side door.

Now I’m trying to figure out whether I have a bad battery. I charged the battery and was able to get the car started. This morning, I connected a battery analyzer directly to the battery, and here are the results:

What concerns me is that the battery status is ‘Good Recharge.’ According to the analyzer, this means: ‘The battery is in good condition but has low power. Please fully charge it.

You may try placing both your fobs in a faraday box or pouch just to eliminate that variable.

Have you made sure your key is very much out of range (not inside the garage door in a basket for example)? I wonder if the keys are just w/in radius w/ its signal going in and out. And have you tried a faraday pouch?

Any chance you got it assessed by the dealer or determined cause?

As I mentioned, the keys are in a faraday box on the other side of the house. I've tested the box, very effective. I ruled out the keyfob prox being a cause.

No, I did not keep the car long enough to try to figure it out. But i figured it was caused by the key being in the drawer close to the garage. So the car randomly "saw" the key and woke up.
