I think you are right. The problem was likely with the original exhaust. If we would have tried the multiple resets without the new actuator, we would have likely got to this result.

After six months, four shops (including a Cadillac dealership), countless trips to those shops, replacing one side of the exhaust, replacing an actuator and $________, the check engine light has now been off for a week, and our BW has passed emissions test. Hats off to Tech One in Cedar Park...

Are you still good with the CEL? A couple of the times I would go a couple days before the CEL would come back on. I was not able to take my BW into the shop last Thursday but did drop her off this morning.

As an update, all attempts to get the light to stay off have failed. After a couple calls with Corsa, they shipped the driver's side exhaust based on the codes. Taking her to a new shop tomorrow and will provide them with all the paperwork from the previous shops.

Looks like valves are operating properly. Was able to get a hold of Corsa last week. Based on the finding from the third shop, they are shipping one side of the exhaust to see if that cures the problem. If not, they think it is a weak OEM actuator. Corsa said exhaust should ship next week...

To this point I have just taken the word of the last shop, but just got back in the country yesterday so will do it this weekend. The last shop created a very detailed report which specifically said they viewed the valves working during the switch in drive modes.

Looked on YouTube. There are sevaral videos regarding exhaust installation with valves. Is there something about the video, like type of car, that will help me narrow my search? Thank you.

I have been to a Cadillac dealership and two shops that claim to have the correct tools. The speed shop claims their scanner was $10k and can handle everything. They were "confident" they could fix it. Has to be more than just a relearn.
