How much a pain in the ass would doing the work myself be? I hear bleeding brakes is a bitch, but it sounds like I stand to save thousands of dollars and would be able to replace the brakes now vs months down the line.

That's a huge price difference... it shouldn't be an issue for me to order these and get an independent shop to do the brake job, right?

Also wondering if I should just source the parts myself and bring it to an independent shop? Seems even the OEM parts are available for under MSRP online. 3380 for everything instead of 4845.

Ive definitely stretched further than I should, haven't noticed braking problems but visually the pads are quite thin. I dont drive as hard as I used to, but I've done a session of autocross. Currently at 50k miles.

I'm due for pads and rotors for my 4BW but the dealer says that oem's are backordered til July, and with tax are almost 5k! Does anyone have experience/recommend aftermarket options, or should I just pay to order them from the dealer and wait until July?

I have the exact same thoughts, to a T. I actually had an allocation for a GTS but after 2 years I'm having a hard time imagining giving up the 4BW. At this point I'm more leaning towards picking up an older sports car as a weekend toy and driving the Blackwing as long as I can.
