I think the perception of the brand will begin to change in the near future and I think being in F1 beginning next year and the new Celstiq, combined with the reputation the Blackwings have, are putting Cadillac back on the podium.
If you want more aggressive styling, you can always get a...
I initially placed an order in Raven Black then saw it in person on a different vehicle and didn’t like it. It’s just black, there is no metallic or flake in it. I thought it looked a little boring/dull to me, though I know as others have said color is subjective. I also don’t like white but...
I would go with option #2 since you prefer the refreshed interior and are impartial to the exterior. With performance oriented cars I always prefer to buy new because you never know how the previous owner drove/treated it, especially once they knew they were getting rid of it. I would also...
In my driveway and clean. Ironically when I placed an order for a Blackwing I could not make my mind up on color. I actually told the sales woman the only color I knew I didn’t want was Midnight Steel Metallic. I thought it was an old man’s color. Then I saw it in person on another dealers lot...
If the Quad were offered in a manual stateside I would also be in one. It’s such a beautiful car inside and out. I fell in love with it at the auto show. They did make it in a manual overseas. The Blackwing is great though and probably less of a headache… I have done a lot of research on the QF...
I’ve not driven one but I do think it’s a sharp looking car and watched and read a couple of reviews. Unfortunately it was not very well reviewed by some of the automotive journalists I tend to trust. Car & Driver only gave it a 6.5/10 (our Blackwings got a 10/10) and Savagegeese did a review of...
That’s a lot of miles for a new car. Typically new cars are 15 or less. That would also be a lot of test drives to not sell it. My guess is a manager at the dealer drove it but I would have questions about the mileage.
With how advanced tires have gotten many performance oriented vehicles come equipped from the factory with summer only tires. Do you live near a discount tire? They will store and swap them for you and I think it’s reasonably priced. I think you will be in this same dilemma with any performance car.
I’m also in Illinois. The 20+ degree swings the same day generally aren’t an issue. If it’s 30 in the morning and 55 mid day the winter tires can accommodate. Same with if it’s 40 in the morning or 65 in the afternoon the summer tires are fine.
The bigger issue is when it’s 75 out then snows...
The PS4S for the Blackwing has a Cup 2 compound in them. If you’re driving them in cold temperatures you can damage the tire. This happened to me with my Cup 2s on my RS while I was waiting for winter tires. I drove over gravel on the road and it took chunks out of the tire. I wouldn’t risk it.
I live in the Midwest and have the OEM tires mounted to Apex wheels and put a dedicated winter tire on the stock wheels. If you put an all season tire on your Blackwing you are doing the car and yourself a huge disservice. The OEM tires are very, very good. Tires are probably the most important...
Looks like a Petit Petaud edition will be in Naperville in a few months. I couldn’t figure out how to get a breakdown of the price but it’s showing the PP package as $25K and the cash price as $101K. Pretty steep for a 4BW that is cosmetic only package. This is nearly $40K over what I paid for...
I went recently and while it was a great experience, I think you would be better off saving the ~$4k for local track days and just going once when you buy a new Blackwing. If you decide you aren’t buying a new Blackwing you could always decide to go later. If I were upgrading from the 4 to the 5...
