A Little-V Blog: The ATS-V purchase and ownership experience

Sorry to hear of your problems, Hib. I couldn't agree more- teething problems are something we (should) accept the possibility of when getting into a first year model, and aren't always the best way to judge the experience. Much more emphasis is put on how we are treated as customers when...

Help! 2016 ctsv torque convertor problems

there are always teething problems with new model cars. we all accepted that risk when we decided to get one of these new V's. what's disappointing is the reflexive "user error" posture that GM is taking with regards to these issues, especially since we bailed them out as taxpayers and are now...

It's happening to some ATS-V guys too... same story from GM. Check this out: Rear Axle System Off - I am at my limits see post #5 Typical GM bs.. . deny deny deny

sorry you have this problem too. i would recommend complaining your a$$ off to cadillac customer service. they won't fix the problem until enough people complain. whatever component or components are making the noise were probably bought in bulk, and GM plays this game every time to avoid...

i love the PNW! yes, the cost of housing is insane, but we have no state income taxes in WA, which is nice. and, there are other ways to build wealth than home ownership. i really like the cooler weather here, great for turbocharged cars ;-) don't believe the stories about the rain either...

no prob. the sound is a rattling that i hear between 2000-2500rpm at light throttle. "light" meaning in traffic type throttle. i think if enough people complain, they will have to do something. something similar happened with the v2 CTS-Vs, where a component in the supercharger assembly made...

hi there, and thanks. yes, it does seem sporadic. some guys on other forums have the same issue, some don't. it just sucks that i got 2 cars with the same issue. i guess it has to become prevalent enough to warrant action on GM's part. i will say it sounds like a$$ and totally tarnishes my...

Sorry for the delay in updating. I got the new car. It has the same rattle. LOL. And now that Hib has pointed out the TSB on the issue, there is really nothing to be done. I've just been unlucky enough to get 2 cars with the same problem. Just for grins, I headed up to the dealership and...

since it was a build, they went the safe route- 90 days. hopefully it's less, but there are worse things than driving a V with a rattle in the interim

thanks man. it's all good, i got the build i really wanted instead of settling for the closest thing they had locally. i have to wait for it to be built, but i am driving this one around in the interim. it's actually pretty cool- i'm getting the new "v" experience twice now. granted, the...

so... ugh. all work is complete and the rattle remains. i have now entered discussions with the dealership about getting a different car. cadillac can deal with this car. also, it will give me a chance to order one from the factory in the spec i wanted. the current car had red calipers and...

thanks man, i am lucky to have a good dealership to work with. i'm trying not to give them too much grief on this as it really isn't their fault, they just own the fix.

so, an update... they decided to replace the driver side turbo after the regional field engineer looked at the car and reviewed his findings with cadillac. i suppose that is easier than replacing the noisy valve actuator in the wastegate assembly. the part was scheduled to arrive today, and...
