Thanks for all the input, everyone. Still ironing things out with the body shop and Bridgestone claims. I’ll share an update once everything’s finalized and the repair is done.
@BW56M certainly overthinking and overanalyzing this... unfortunately I am an academic so can't help it🤣
@FLYARMY no clue...
Update: Bridgestone says they don’t report to CarFax. Second shop I visited today quoted $750 (vs. $2k from first). The guy told he won't report it to CarFax, but can’t guarantee their quoting/receipt system won’t sell the data. He can try leaving the VIN off, which should...
Gave the car a thorough inspection—no damage underneath or under the door (thankfully).
Body shop near by quoted $2k, but offered free touch-up. I’ll get a few more quotes, out of curiosity.
I’m also waiting to hear from Bridgestone to find out if going through their claim process will put...
Had a nail in my left rear tire this morning, so I took the 4BW to a nearby shop to get it plugged. When I picked it up later, I found damage on the foot pillar under the door. Pretty weird spot, maybe a tool slipped?
The manager was apologetic, took photos, and told me to get a body shop...
Must haves included manual, red seat belts, Alcantara wheel, performance seats, sunroof, tech bronze wheels.
Did not care about any of the carbon fiber packages, for various reasons, added cost being one of them.
Traded my 2014 Mustang GT (Track pack) with 36k miles. Mustang was super reliable with 0 problems. Had my fun with it, but needed a sedan and a bit more comfort and refinement. Love the 4BW and planning to keep it for a while.
Nothing wrong with these oil temps. For normal driving temp stays around 190, when spirited gets above 200.
Keep in mind there is no oil temperature sensor. What you see is an estimate based on coolant temp.
@Kawman appreciate you joining the conversation late. I had read when first got my 4BW about being able to roll the car by letting the clutch go without giving it any gas but forgot about it. After riding your post, I gave it a try. I find it more fun when in reverse for some reason🤣
Inspect closely for paint imperfections. There have been plenty of cases where paint is sprayed over dirt. Most paint imperfections can be addressed to an extent by a good detailer. If you find issues ask for a lower price or the dealership to cover the cost of polishing and ceramic coating.
