If you just do gentle braking on the street, the cold pads can wear away the layer on the rotor you created by burnishing, although mine seems to be holding up well. You can always do it again.
It’s all about getting the brake pads hot enough to deposit an even layer of pad material down on the rotor without stopping which would cause a hot spot. Higher speeds means fewer near stops needed to generate the heat. Then you need to drive around without stopping until the brakes cool so...
Great question. I believe the one on the right is for Track mode and the one to the left of it is which PTM mode. I’d have to test though. I was most likely in Track mode PTM Sport.
With track use they absolutely heat cycle out before they wear out. The OM also has some incredibly short timeframes for tire replacement with track use. I think that is more a function of load of the tire under heavy cornering.
Do you track the car? Is it the same side cat that is failing? How is it failing (internals breaking apart, clogged, cracked)?
I went through multiple cats on my C7 Z06 and C7 ZR1 with track use. They would crack at the welded seam. I wonder if you have some engine issue causing one bank to...
Stick with the stock pads. They work great for track and street. I wouldn’t want to risk a pad compound that accelerates wear on the very expensive CCB rotors.
It’s the MP4 file and you’ll need to use something like Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive to share it. If you want to PM me your email address we can work it out over email.
It should. Pi just reads whatever channels are in the data file. If someone has a PDR file from the new system, I can load it up and look.
There could be some differences in the channels though. From the C7 to the BW/C8 the names of some channels changed, as did the recording frequency. Some...
The videos I made use the more advanced Cosworth Pi Toolbox and I tried to make it easy by sharing pre-made workbooks. The videos should cover everything you need to do, but feel free to ask questions.
I didn’t tell them because it didn’t have a problem at the track, but they know I track my cars. I’ve never had a problem with GM honoring warranty after track use (unless you tune or do something like over rev on a downshift). I even unloaded my C7 off the trailer at the dealer with track tires...
The CCBs on the 5BW are a different type than on the Corvette in that they have an additional friction coating. Mine has a fair bit of track time and the rotors are not showing any signs of wear.
If you want a set of iron replacements, I worked with Electron Sport to get Alcon to make iron...
