A clay bar removes everything including any polish or wax so they have to be reapplied. Clay bars aren't really maintenance/touch up tools for that reason.
PPF, ceramic coating and staying on top of it is my approach. You have to get them off as soon as you can, else they will start to etch the clear coat.

Full disclosure: I have a C7 Z06 and 4BW and I find them to be very complimentary.
The cars are well-maintained by Spring Mountain. However, if they are like the Spring Mountain Corvettes, they have warranty blocks on the drivetrain so you'd want to confirm with GM the warranty status on the car and factor in the response in the pricing.
