You can buy a three day subscription to the service manual on the AC Delco website for $10. It covers changing pads and probably any other maintenance items you might be interested in.
Consensus view is that the pads with rotors thing is a dealer $$$ special. If your rotors are still within spec, no need to change. Front min is 32mm. Would be very surprising if you are down to 32mm on one set of pads.
Pad change is super easy in front and back. Wear sensor also not too...
Front rotors are easy, as you say. Just have a good impact gun to take off the caliper bolts. And an impact screwdriver to loosen the rotor screw. Good home mechanic job. I'm a marginal wrench and managed it.
Getting access to the rear caliper bolts is difficult. I punted to a mechanic...
Solid cradle mounts not inserts? Do you have a product link? The Camaro guys love the BMR inserts but I was told they don't fit the BWs. I think my offseason suspension stuff will be limited to camber plates and the toe links.
Thanksgiving travel means no chance for that VIR date. I wish...
Did not have that tweeter problem, 4bw.
Big picture, I would say that the harness doesn't make the car better or worse, just different. Personal preference. A little more road and wind noise. Purer than stock at full throttle but probably a little less musical at part throttle. Biggest factor...
That'll be spicy! That's pretty much a best of options for our platform without going to coilovers. Do you know that 295 fits? I've seen 285 on 18x10, only a little rub but okay for track use.
Interested in your install experience, you bought the ats-v plates? My understanding is you need longer bolts for the top mount to clear our strut tower bar, but it otherwise fits out of the box. Can you tell if that's correct? On my short list for the off-season.
My experience, you slide out the red tab as you described. Then, push down on the plastic area the red tab was covering and the sensor should pull out with only a little force.
My personal experience with an aftermarket exhaust, Corsa but ultimately less restriction is less restriction so I would expect the same performance impact, is that there certainly could be more lower mid-range power but there is nothing more up top. No reason not to believe the AWE dyno. Trap...
Do we have any sense of how bypassing ANC will affect the artificial engine noise from the speakers? In some of the exhaust modes it seems possible it's real noise picked up by microphones and amplified, but track mode has that fake interstellar warble noise.
Agree with @Kawman, if you can find the time you should go! Watkins Glen is the best. Attended with chin last year, I also highly recommend chin for HDPE. Occasionally see blackwings or Vs at track days but it's pretty rare.
Do you mean the rotor shields? Not the brake ducts that clip on to the rear suspension?
I've had the big shields off on the front since new, with the little tomahawk shaped track shield installed instead, and both shields off on the back for the last year. I did not put the plastic ducts onto...
I'll second talking with Ken at KNS. Nothing magic about OEM. Rotors may be fine too, worth checking thickness. It's possible the dealer just said new rotors so they could sell new rotors.
If you are talking about front and rear everything that pricing sounds about right. But really high if...
According to the quickjack measuring guide and some past users here, quickjack generally and the ELX specifically works for the ct4. I am hoping someone can share advice based on their successful experience.
The main challenge I see relates to the CT4 weirdness of having to lift on the rear...
Thanks for the replies. Consensus here (earlier threads) seemed to be to get the ELX. Others like @Melon had found the SLX and (for the CT5) even the TLX too short. I would guess the TLX would work for a ct4 but can't confirm.
