Sooooo I went ahead and upgraded to the soler throttle body and the car is still making the sound 😅
What else moves when you put it into accessory mode and tap the throttle?
Noise came back, found someone on Facebook and learned that it is actually throttle body.
Put your car in accessory mode and pump the throttle, you’ll hear the plate rubbing against something.
the scariest part for me was removing all the lines connected to the solenoids and once I did it was very obvious how to put it back together.
Should be a simple task for someone that has the right tools.
I was able to get it hooked up, missed the one in the rear on the left side.
I’ve dealt with enough boost leak issues to know not to get worked up 😅
9/10 when it’s now working the way it should it’s going to be a minor detail that’s easily overlooked
Hey Folks,
I just installed the spark plugs and a JB4 to my CT4 BW and now im getting a CEL and it looks like I'm under boosting. What could be the issue here?
Wanted to make sure that the noise was actually gone before posting an update. After the turbo replacement didn't fix the issue, they brought an engineer in to look at it further.
For someone that has worked on cars before and built a couple of boosted civics, it never ceases to amaze me just...
You put it in V mode? lol.
I got the got my BW because it’s as fast as my boosted Civic with room to grow. Drop $1000 and put on a JB4 for another 100 hp, that’s what I plan to do when I get bored of it. You’ll always want more power, learned that the hard way after dropping $15k into a civic 😂
Update: cars been with the dealer for 3 days and they came back stating that the issue is with the wastegate. Getting the Turbo replaced under warranty and we’ll go from there. If it happens again then it’s safe to assume this is an issue that will happen to all CT4 BWs
I just purchased my 2023 CT4 BW with 2500 miles for $60k(before taxes, title and tag).
Had every option checked off including the bronze wheels and the tan leather seats with the exception of the carbon fiber packages.
You just gotta look and look HARD. I had to travel 450 miles to pick it up...
New finding for you. It only happens when I run my AC. If you live in colder weather and haven’t had to use the AC lately, then it makes sense as to why you’re not hearing it as often.
Test it out for yourself. Top the throttle with the AC on and listen for the sound, then turn off the AC and...
It is definitely not limited to the manual transmission. I have the same noise coming from my car and I have an Auto.
I’m thinking belt or clamp on exhaust is loose, considering replacing the turbo hasn’t fixed the problem for others. The car makes the noise when I turn it off too, which leads...
This reminds me of the issue with throw out bearings in my Honda Civic SI, except that was a $24k Honda and this is my $78k Cadillac 🤦♂️
Most civic owners learned to live with it…
