Interesting, I had been intrigued when I saw the Seasucker on the Caddy accessory site, but it said it was not compatible with the 4BW… Of course now that I look at the Seasucker site, it says it’s compatible with everything….

Magnesium is fundamentally brittle and corrodes easily, though you can engineer around that to some extent. When I bought mag wheels for my racing motorcycle years ago, they recommended getting them xrayed before every season to check for cracks (I don't know anyone who actually did that, tho)...
