I'm flying to Vegas tomorrow for class on Wed/Thur of this week. I really wish for a carbon brakes, manual 2025 with upgraded seats *fingers crossed*. Anybody else scheduled this week? April 9th-10th.
My Radiant Red CT5-V Blackwing is named Bia. Greek goddess of force, power, and strength.
My 2011 6M CTS-V Wagon is named Victoria. Vicky the Vagon if you're nasty. (also Red tintcoat)
The wife's Miami Blue Macan Turbo is known as Sully (the blue furry character from Monsters, Inc.)
A note that that 'official' GM approved fix is to press the oil cup back into the existing oil pan versus replacing the oil pan itself, if possible. So assuming your dealer found the oil cup in the under engine plastic tray that may speed up the process on the engine repair. Very sorry to hear...
My guess is that it is used in machining process of the oil passage in the pan and then sealed off. Similar to how the 'dog bone' plug is used in the engine block itself (which is mechanically locked by the transmission bellhousing from being able to come out).
In my case the servicing dealer had my car for over 29 days 'awaiting parts' for a new oil pan after they first tried to present me with an almost $7k bill for something that was very clearly a manufacturing defect. The Service Manager tried to say that because I used a non GM branded oil filter...
2025 CT5 Blacking with Uniden R7 hardwire instructions:
For the 2025 CT5 BW- I ordered this wiring kit from Amazon (you will use the smallest pin variant of the 3 provided). Remove the plastic surround attached to the windshield using a 1 inch wide plastic pry tool (Harbor Freight has them...
I've been super busy at work and haven't had time to properly document the issue I encountered in a new thread, yet.
For those of us lucky to have a 2025 CT5 Blackwing - there is a service bulletin posted today for ALL 2025 CT5 Blackwings to have the oil pan checked for a possible...
I haven't been allowed to see it myself at the dealership - but from what I understand its a metal plug inside the circled area that is used during manufacturing and it should never come apart. GM Part 12707561 is the prior version of the oil pan used in earlier LT4 engines. The Service Tech...
Apparently they have to remove the exhaust, headers and who knows what else to swap the oil pan out. I was never provided a written estimate when I strongly pushed back on paying nearly $7k to fix a car with 600 miles on the odometer. I thought the Service Manager was joking at first.
Officially, once they deemed it a valid warranty repair they told me the oil pan needs replaced which is a 25 shop hour service procedure. They have not been able to source the oil pan so they are exploring other options now. I'm considering what things GM can do to restore my trust in their...
Funny enough - the Service Advisor and Service Manager had no idea the engine is "hand built" by a single person and their name is proudly displayed on the top of the engine plaque. I politely asked they forward their findings about the issue back to the engine builder/their management in...
The exact wording in the owners manual is "recommended" not required fwiw - I looked it up. Someone else on the forum also pointed out previously that at exactly 501 miles on the odometer the engine redline on the dash changes from 4k to normal. Why program it at exactly 501 miles versus 1501 if...
