Engine Break In - 500 mi or 1500 mi

No. What would be bad - and when you'll likely hear noise, is low speed sharp turns like in a parking lot. Heavy throttle/acceleration in turns should be avoided for a while longer. And no burn outs. :bu

Newbie question: ride quality diff in 2025 5BW

I talked to him briefly a year or two ago and he seems like a nice guy. I sold cars for a short while and I now have a lot more sympathy and compassion for those of you in the business. I still don't trust anyone (especially sales managers) but at least I'm nicer about it now. :beer

    Does your dipstick suck?

Be happy that you've got one. I just did an oil service on the wife's Porsche and BMW, no stick on either.

Cleaning this thing is a BITCH !!!

I used that on my M4 once, and it worked great on painted surfaces but stained the plastic. Yeah, I'm late to the party here, I've been away... Griots also makes a bug&tar remover that I have fallen in love with. Spray, let it sit for a minute or two, wipe off. Old bugs require a little bit...

So, who keeps track of the used car market prices?

Yeah, thanks. I'm now a professional car salesperson, so you'd think I could easily do it myself, but not having the dealership behind me to provide financing and advertising, I know what a struggle it can be to sell a nearly new car that costs close to $100K. Most cash buyers would rather...

So, who keeps track of the used car market prices?

Final update for those following along: '23 BW 6-spd, 10K miles, base car black/black. I sold it to a dealer for $82K He sold it on Manheim for $85K. It probably cost him about $1K to ship it and pay fees. (I suspect, based on my research, that it took several tries before he got someone...

Thoughts on purchasing a used blackwing that was a V academy car. Try to get at bargain price or avoid at all costs??

Me personally, no, never would I buy a car that was used at any of these type of places, including BMW, Porsche, Cadillac and Chevy. I've been to several. These cars take a beating. Sure, they are maintained, but it's a really tough life.

So, who keeps track of the used car market prices?

They are thinking, we may need to put tires on it, it's hard to sell a manual, and they would be paying on it for 3 months until it sells. That's why I took 82 for mine from a dealer that immediately flipped it on manheim. Let me know if you want a referral.

So, who keeps track of the used car market prices?

It was the earlier version with the hardtop convertible, and the :puke4 cylinder.

So, who keeps track of the used car market prices?

It's actually a strong compliment on the BW that I kept it as long as I did. I average around 16 months tenure for cars. There were a few outliers, a corvette that I kept for 15 years, a mistake (Z4) that I kept for 6 months...

So, who keeps track of the used car market prices?

So for those following along and need an update, or who stumbled upon this thread, I did decide to sell the car and put it on Autotrader. I had several attempted scams and a few low ball offers from dealers. One offered me $82K but after a discussion when he realized that it was a base car, he...

So, who keeps track of the used car market prices?

Thanks all for your input. My car is a base model, the only option was the security lug nuts, which I took off and sold (I hate those things). I listed the car for sale, and the only queries I got on it were from scammers and dealers. Of the last few cars that I've sold, I've found that it's...
