Strange leak on underside of gas tank

Happened to be looking under my CT4 Blackwing and noticed what looks like some sort of leak on the underside of my fuel tank, both sides of the tank have the same issue in the approximately same spot. Anyone have any idea of what this is or experience the same issue ?

That looks like the carbon from the exhaust system. There may be a hole in the exhaust pipe somewhere and it is leaking water vapor onto your gas tank and leaving that black soot.

But yeah that thing pictured is the muffler, not the gas tank. It's got 2 holes for water to drain. The water has carbon in it from combustion.

All modern exhausts have condensation drain ports in them. Those along with changes in material choice and coatings is why modern exhaust rarely rusts from the inside out. Turbo cars seem more prone to extra soot in the exhaust.

Did you know, that "technically"......eye drops are blinker fluid.
