OW-40 oil OK?

[2024 Escalade V]

I just took my 2024 Escalade V to a Chevy dealer to get an oil change at 500 miles (I was told any GM dealer is OK, and they had availability) and they put 0W-40 oil in (no idea why). Is that OK or should I take it back in and have OW-20 put in like the manual says to use?

If your Escalade V has the 6.2L LT4 supercharged engine, then you need Dexos R 0W-40.
If you just have a 6.2L L87 engine, then yes, 0W-20 is what goes in that engine.
