Important Update Regarding Production:
We have committed to provide timely updates to our dealer partners regarding the ongoing global industry-wide semiconductor shortage.
Overall, we have seen better consistency in semiconductor supply through the first quarter compared to last year as a whole, which has translated into improvement in our production and deliveries during the first three months of the year. However, there is still uncertainty and unpredictability in the semiconductor supply base, and we are actively working with our suppliers to mitigate potential issues moving forward.
We can confirm that due to an upcoming shortage we will require downtime at Ft. Wayne Assembly (Indiana) for two weeks beginning the week of Monday, April 4 and Monday, April 11. This will be the first semiconductor-related full-size truck production downtime since August 2021.
Upcoming production adjustments to GM North American Assembly:
While we know it is challenging and disruptive when we make these announcements, we remain confident in our team’s ability to continue finding creative solutions to minimize the impact of the semiconductor shortages.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and support as we manage through these issues. We appreciate your collective efforts to put the customer at the center and managing tight inventory levels to deliver vehicles at unprecedented turn rates.
We will continue to keep you informed with future updates.
Regards,
Steve Carlisle
Executive Vice President and President, North America
