Supposedly they are "disabling" it, I'm sure they'll find some other way to fuck us.That looks like what @FLYARMY said he was getting nagged about earlier in this thread.
Has anyone figured out where the location services privacy setting is?I got this email on Thursday, which I assume is related to this.
If you buy a recent model year car you’ll just get screwed by some other company. Best to buy a used car before cats came into play.If my insurance goes way up, it is likely that the Blackwing will leave the stable and I will never buy another GM car again. I hope this information reaches the public and GM sales decline. This practice by GM is not acceptable.

Regardless of whether insurance companies are using this information and from whatever the source, rates have been going up. Insurance cost of all types is out of control.
It's time to remove all incumbents. It's like everyone is using the pandemic as an excuse to fuck the people
I need to apologize - my rates actually did NOT go up for this coming 6 month period. They went up last time and I just didn't even remember that huge increase last fall because I had a lot going on. Sorry.I just got my latest State Farm bill for the next 6 months and it has gone up SUBSTANTIALLY. I have a feeling it's because of the brief time I was enrolled without my knowledge. This is such BS.
I have a 2007 Z06 and originally disabled onstar by pulling all of the connectors except the high speed can bus connector -- removing that one bifurcates the bus and prevents the car from starting! Of course these days the gen 7.0 onstar module wouldn't be able to talk to any current cellular networks.Since I had my trunk opened up and given that I disabled the OnStars cellular link in my 21' Suburban, I decided to poke around in the CT5BW. The same LG Telematics module I have in my 21's Suburban is also in the 23' CT5BW, located in the trunk on the passenger side along the wheel well area under the rug.
The newer LG modules have a similar layout; multimode daughter card covering both the GSM and CDMA freq bands.I have a 2007 Z06 and originally disabled onstar by pulling all of the connectors except the high speed can bus connector -- removing that one bifurcates the bus and prevents the car from starting! More recently I swapped the nav radio and onstar for the 2013 version to gain an AUX input and factory bluetooth. But for bluetooth to work the module needed to be powered (and the gen 9.2 onstar module would be able to phone home). So I opened it up and found that the cellular functions were on a daughter card and that I could remove the multi-pin board-to-board jumper to completely air gap the modem.
(More info here -- scroll down to "OnStar Neutering")
I did the same mod to my 2nd gen CTS-V.
I am very curious what the inside of the inside of the 86803964 onstar module looks like...
Received the response from LexisNexis... They removed all of the telematics data!Similar to others on here, there was telematics data with braking and/or acceleration numbers every single time that my car moved. Either I am a raging driver in denial on my 13 minute commute or the data acquisition criteria is set by that person that I get stuck behind in the mornings.
Nonetheless, I both opt'd out online and called 888-497-0011 to dispute the data. My dispute reason was that I was not made aware of the data collection and resale, and, that the name on the report does not match the driver. It is understood that the car is on the policy of the household, blah, blah, blah... yet the data is still presumptuous. It clearly states a person, place, and time, which are incorrect. The fine individual said that they will submit my dispute and that I'll get a letter in 30 days.
How did you opt out online?Received the response from LexisNexis... They removed all of the telematics data!
The reason listed was "...data being reported was unverifiable". A link and password was included for a new report. On there, section 10 telematics was completely empty (yahoo!).
To opt out (suppress) on LexisNexis, I went here: optout.lexisnexis.comHow did you opt out online?
I just received a renewal notice from AAA and I am MAD! My premium went up 50% on my blackwing and my other cars.
