If they expect us to not resurface otherwise perfectly good rotors that only have an uneven layer of pad deposit they could at least give us a ring only option rather than a whole rotor/hat assembly. I can’t wait until Girodisc or DBA gets a front rotor to market
I had front rotors with pad deposits that looked like yours for a few weeks. Initially I was concerned but I wasn’t experiencing any significant pulsing or vibrations so I checked the pad and rotor thicknesses and took it to a trackday. Problem solved. As long as your rotors and pads are not...
The UPF63R is the higher performance/quality version of the AC Delco PF63 filter. It does fit our LF4s. Think of the UPF version as the XP line from Wix or the Gold version of a Napa filter, all of which are noticeably more robust when compared side by side to their standard filters. It is the...
I agree with V56 and 565, my factory PS4S are still amazingly quiet with 7-8k miles and 4 track days on them. In fact, they are no louder than the PSAS4 I use for winter. If yours are loud on a variety of pavement surfaces, I’d have them looked at.
For those who routinely drive in Vmode, but don’t want to change settings just to have exhaust open for the next start, I have found that if you simultaneously press the V button while starting your car you’ll be good to go
Agreed! A repaint will likely not be much, if any better, than your current paint and definitely not as durable as factory applied and cured paint. One solution might be the blacked out roof film others on here have done.
Anybody have experience going from an OEM Brembo rotor to an aftermarket Girodisc or DBA? Just curious when these start becoming available for our BWs, are the aftermarket ones more durable? If they cost more can we at least expect a longer life? How much?
Sandman and Yogurt are entirely correct. I went from a MK7 GTI into my 4BW. The VWs are fun commuter/drivers that definitely run out of steam and understeer. Sure you can tune them and add suspension improvements but then you need better brakes and tires. Problem is, now you’re leaving...
I gave it a try last year. Was not able to punch out the top alignment pins. After numerous progressively harder strikes with a hammer and punch, I ended up drilling the pins out of the way. This allowed the strut to move at most 1/8” inboard. It may have given me .5 deg. Never put it on an...
I wouldn’t worry about low pressure at idle at this time. Your motor needs more time to break-in. Follow break-in procedure in manual making sure to vary rpm’s. Don’t be afraid to give it some gas, just watch the tach and don't overshoot the recommended max. A new motor will break-in more...
