V-Series Cadillac(s)?
2023 CT5-V Blackwing
I’ve been playing around with V-Mode on my ’23 CT5-V Blackwing 6-speed manual and have a question about the Engine/Shift setting.

I understand what it does with the 10-speed automatic—changing shift points, holding gears longer, and altering downshift behavior. But with the manual, those transmission-related changes obviously don’t apply.

So what exactly changes between Tour and Track for the Engine/Shift setting on the 6-speed? Does it primarily change the throttle mapping (tip-in), torque management, or are there other engine calibrations being adjusted as well?

To me the throttle response is noticeably different.

I have not noticed improved throttle response in any of the engine modes. It is a constant irritant that I've resolved I'll have to spend the $$$ for a tune to fix.

I asked this while at Spring Mountain last week and their answer was that on manuals, it affects throttle response as well as the aggressiveness of the rev match

I thought the tip-in was atrocious in any mode.

I ended up following the LT4 tip-in fix recommended by many Camaro and 'Vette owners. The car now has a Soler Performance throttle body and controller. No more tip-in issues, an improved idle, and zero side effects. Win-win.

Thanks @autoregression - sounds like just what i need. I see CT-5 is there. Same unit works on all CT-5s ?

I would expect various engines have different throttle voltage mappings.

I believe the unit is the same for the 5V & 5BW. Call them to be certain. They are very responsive to calls.

Do you think it would work the same on a CT4V Blackwing? I see they have one for CT4V and can confirm with the company, but I'm wondering if it would help throttle response on mine. I'm not super familiar with throttle bodies but after reading your post and looking them up it seems like it's a pretty decent upgrade.
