Surround Video Recording is out for MY25+

Confirming that exFAT does not work and it needs to be FAT32. I tried with a 64GB drive that required Rufus to format (make it non-bootable when formatting). Not sure the max size Rufus can format in FAT32. I ordered a 512gb drive and will try. I hope I can also use it for my music.

Only GM would make it so you have to download open source software to format a USB key. But at least SVR is now available to us. I will also see how SVR works with PDR auto record. I assume both can be active at the same time as they are different systems using their own storage.

I would question if the RAM/CPU resource overhead of having both systems recording simultaneously would be worth the performance hit to the overall system. I would turn off PDR and just keep SVR on.

Question to those that have it - does the front cam record in 1080p in SVR? Or is it at reduced quality?

I'm in over my head when it comes to this stuff tbh. You mean the ecu data on the AC Delco tds site or somewhere within sps2?
Once you're on the programming page for the A11 (audio) module, click on the "ECU Data" button at the bottom then look for "vit.partno" on the page that pops up.

Funny, I would blame microsoft for not providing a standard way of formatting fat32 under windows.

A quick search shows it might be possible using a command window running as admin using the DiskPart util.
Windows supports up to 32gb. I tried diskpart and didn't work for me. ymmv
What brand, speed and capacity for the USB stick is everyone using that works well with the surround recording??
Typically for things like dash cams you'd want to use a "high endurance" card that can handle more writes. I'm not really seeing any options for flash drives. In the Tesla and Rivian world people typically recommend an m.2 portable SSD instead because they handle writes better. The Samsung t7 is very popular. I pulled the one I have in our Rivian out and tried it and it does work so I may need to order another one of those. Though the price has gone up 4x since I bought this one. Ooof.

I believe it's the first vit.partno, in your case 86420388. That tracks with what I would expect, the "selected software" numbers for 86420388 (android 14) are all numerically larger than for 86277949 (my module, android 12). I'm guessing selected software is some kind of version number.
I wonder if you could use an endurance microSD card with a USB-A reader/adapter.
I've been using a pair of sandisk 256GB high endurance micro SD cards for PDR recordings. These come with a SD to micro SD adapter and I swap them every month or so, extract the videos, and then format (exFAT, by the way).

If my car ever updates to android 14, I'll be using a sandisk high endurance micro SD card for SVR recordings. The way I think about it, all of the form factors (USB, SD, micro SD) have the same little silicon chip inside.

[the xenforo forum software would not let me add this line to my post!]

There are a ton of options to go from micro to usb a (or c).

Received my 256 SanDisk drive today(formatted to FAT 32) and tried it out on a short drive. It works great and the icons let you view the forward, rear, and the two sides separately. It doesn't appear to have sound like the PDR dashCam does, and obviously the quality from the little cameras is not the greatest, but not complaining.

Does the SVR begin overwriting oldest files when it fills up? PDR gives option to overwrite oldest files. But I do not see that option on the SVR.

Yeah I am endurance SD card is probably a good option but m.2 SSDs do use a different little silicon chip than flash drives and SD media and do, theoretically, have a good bit better longevity and reliability.

Has anyone been able to view the files on the flash drive from the SVR? I tried to view them in a PC and also a Macbook, but was unable to identify the file extensions on the drive. Is special software needed? I'd just like to save some of the videos on my computer drive.

Yeah they're just mp4 files. Nothing special needed on Windows. Buried in the folder Android\media\com.gm.ultifi.gmconnectedcameraservice\Recordings\SurroundVisionRecorder

Has anyone with a 25 received this update yet?
Some other reporting (said by dealers) on the internet said the 2025s were not getting the SVR update, but don't know if that is true.

That would be highly disappointing considering the cars are basically the same.

I should have been clearer in my previous post. I have a 2025 and the update gave me SVR.

Dealers (and others) are saying 2026 as that is the year the Corvette got the infotainment update the CT5 got in 2025. So 2025-26 CT5 and 2026 Corvette all get the same update that enables SVR.

Yeah, that was unclear to me. Maybe put your year in your visible post profile. ;) Good to know that a 25 is included.
